Podium Work Continues on The Brooklyn Tower at 9 DeKalb Avenue in Downtown Brooklyn

At number three on our annual countdown of the tallest buildings under construction in New York is The Brooklyn Tower, a 1,066-foot residential supertall skyscraper 9 DeKalb Avenue in Downtown Brooklyn. Designed by SHoP Architects and developed by Silverstein Properties, which took over from JDS Development, the 93-story structure stands as the tallest structure in the outer boroughs and yields 550 residential units including 150 condominiums, 280 market-rate rentals, 120 affordable rentals, and 100,000 square feet of retail space in the podium and the adjoining landmarked Dime Savings Bank of Brooklyn. The property is alternately addressed as 55 Fleet Street and bound by Flatbush Avenue Extension to the northeast, Fleet Street to the northwest, DeKalb Avenue to the south, and the adjoining Dime Savings Bank to the west.

New Renderings Revealed For 147-27 Archer Avenue in Jamaica, Queens

New renderings have been released for 147-27 Archer Avenue, a proposed 20-story mixed-use building in Jamaica, Queens. Designed by IMC Architecture and developed by Meyer Chetrit of The Chetrit Group, the 231-foot-tall structure will span 274,837 square feet and yield 359 rental units with an average scope of 653 square feet, as well as 23,108 square feet of commercial space, 17,194 square feet of community facility space, a cellar level, and 219 enclosed parking spaces. The residential program is set to include 119 income-restricted units. The 23,000-square-foot property is located between 147th and 148th Streets.

KPF’s 520 Fifth Avenue Reaches 1,002-Foot Pinnacle in Midtown, Manhattan

At number four on YIMBY’s annual countdown of the tallest construction projects in New York is 520 Fifth Avenue, a 1,002-foot mixed-use supertall skyscraper in Midtown, Manhattan. Designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox and developed by Rabina, the 88-story structure will span 415,000 square feet and yield 100 condominium units, a residents-only amenity floor on level 88, 25 boutique office floors, a private members-only club called Moss, and four cellar levels. The property is located at the corner of Fifth Avenue and West 43rd Street, one block north of Bryant Park.

The Greenwich Nears Completion at 125 Greenwich Street in Financial District, Manhattan

At number five on our year-end countdown of the tallest construction projects in New York is The Greenwich by Rafael Viñoly, a 912-foot-tall residential skyscraper at 125 Greenwich Street in Manhattan’s Financial District. Designed by Rafael Viñoly Architects and developed by Fortress Investment Group, Bilgili, and Bizzi & Partners, the 88-story structure will yield 272 condominium units in studio to three-bedroom layouts. The property is located at the corner of Greenwich and Thames Streets, just south of Liberty Park and the World Trade Center complex.

262 Fifth Avenue’s Façade Climbs Higher in NoMad, Manhattan

At number six on our annual countdown of the 31 tallest buildings under construction in New York is 262 Fifth Avenue, an 860-foot-tall residential skyscraper in NoMad, Manhattan. Designed by Meganom with SLCE Architects as the executive architect and developed by Boris Kuzinez of Five Points Development, the 56-story structure will yield 26 full-floor and duplex condominium units with an average scope of 3,200 square feet, including at least one quadruplex unit. PG New York is heading the facade installation. The tower stands on a 5,000-square-foot plot at the southwest corner of Fifth Avenue and West 29th Street.
