New renderings have been revealed for 75 Essex Street, an upcoming 17-story mixed-use building on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. Designed by Studio C Architects and developed by Soft Stone Development Group, the project involves the restoration of an existing four-story structure and the construction of a 13-story addition above, and is planned to stand 162 feet tall and yield 27,355 square feet. The programming will include nine condominium units with an average scope of 1,592 square feet, 13,023 square feet of commercial space, and a cellar level. The property is located at the corner of Broome and Essex Streets.

1522 First Avenue Stands Topped Out On Manhattan’s Upper East Side

Construction is closing in on the parapet of 1522 First Avenue, a 30-story medical office building in the Yorkville section of Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Designed by Perkins Eastman and developed by Extell, the 449-foot-tall structure will yield 400,000 square feet of Class A office space and retail space on the ground floor and cellar levels. The Hospital for Special Surgery will serve as the anchor tenant, occupying 200,000 square feet across the first eight stories of the building. The property is alternately addressed as 403 East 79th Street and located between East 79th and 80th Streets.

Weill Cornell Medical College Expansion Progresses at 1393 York Avenue on Manhattan’s Upper East Side

Exterior work is taking shape on 1393 York Avenue, a 17-story student housing complex in the Lenox Hill section of Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Designed by Perkins + Will and developed by Weill Cornell Medical College, which purchased the property from Church of the Epiphany for $68 million in 2018, the 202-foot-tall structure will span 128,205 square feet and accommodate 272 students in 221 residences with an average scope of 657 square feet. The program includes 163 studios, seven one-bedrooms, and 51 two-bedroom units, as well as an additional 20,390 square feet of residential space, presumably for faculty housing. The project is located at the corner of East 74th Street and York Avenue.

Designed by Zproekt Architecture and developed and built by Sergey Rybak of Rybak Development under the 660 Lexington Avenue Development LLC, the 233-foot-tall structure will span 52,558 square feet and yield 23 condominium units with an average scope of 2,123 square feet, as well as 2,551 square feet of commercial space, 1,174 square feet of community facility space, and a cellar level. The property is alternately addressed as 133 East 55th Street and located at the corner of Lexington Avenue and East 55th Street.
