Foundations are underway at 300 East 50th Street, the site of a 23-story residential building in the Turtle Bay section of Midtown East, Manhattan. Designed by BKSK Architects and developed by MAG Partners in collaboration with Global Holdings, KRW Realty Advisors, Krown Point, and Safanad, the 275-foot-tall structure will span 170,000 square feet and yield 194 units, with 30 percent allocated to affordable housing, as well as ground-floor retail space, a cellar level, and a 30-foot-long side yard. 300 East 50th Street Owner LLC is listed as the owner and Urban Atelier Group is the general contractor for the property, which is located at the intersection of Second Avenue and East 50th Street.

Demolition Wraps Up At 540 Third Avenue in Murray Hill, Manhattan

Demolition is finishing up at 540 Third Avenue, the site of a 22-story residential building in Murray Hill, Manhattan. Designed by Ismael Leyva Architects and developed by Robert Gilardian of Gilar Realty, the 235-foot-tall structure will span roughly 109,000 square feet and yield 160 rental units with an average scope of 625 square feet, as well as 3,747 square feet of ground-floor commercial space and a cellar level. Third Avenue Pavilions Residences is listed as the owner and Celtic Services NYC Inc. is the demolition contractor for the property, which is alternately addressed as 162 East 36th Street and located at the corner of Third Avenue and East 36th Street.

38 West 8th Street Readies for Façade Installation in Greenwich Village, Manhattan

Construction has topped out on 38 West 8th Street, a seven-story mixed-use building in Greenwich Village, Manhattan. Designed by Morris Adjmii Architects and developed by Straus Group under the Clinton Eight Realty LLC, the structure will yield condominium units, a community facility, and commercial space with 104 feet of frontage. The project also includes repairs to the adjacent structure to the south at 177 MacDougal Street. Empire State Contractors is the general contractor for the property, which is situated at the corner of West 8th and MacDougal Streets.

Construction Rises on Hotel Conversion at 224 West 47th Street in Times Square, Manhattan

Construction is progressing on 224 West 47th Street, a 25-story hotel tower at the northern end of Times Square, Manhattan. Designed by Gene Kaufman Architect and developed by McSam Hotel Group, the project involves the conversion and expansion of an 11-story bank building from the 1920s into a 136-room Cambria Suites hotel. GK West 47th LLC is listed as the owner and Omnibuild is the general contractor for the Midtown property, which is located on a narrow interior lot between the pedestrianized plazas along Broadway to the east and Eighth Avenue to the west.

Excavation Underway for 68-Story Skyscraper at 100 West 37th Street in Midtown, Manhattan

Excavation is moving along at 100 West 37th Street, the site of a 68-story mixed-use skyscraper in the Garment District of Midtown, Manhattan. Designed by C3D Architecture and developed by Sioni Group under the 989 Sixth Realty LLC, the 743-foot-tall structure will span 384,118 square feet and yield 300 condominium units with an average scope of 991 square feet, as well as 86,817 square feet of commercial space and two cellar levels. Northeast Specialist Group was the demolition contractor for the corner property, which is alternately addressed as 989-993 Sixth Avenue and located at the intersection of Sixth Avenue and West 37th Street.

Foundations Underway for COOKFOX’s 335 Eighth Avenue in Chelsea, Manhattan

Foundations are underway at 335 Eighth Avenue, the site of a seven-story mixed-use building in Chelsea, Manhattan. Designed by COOKFOX Architects and developed by MAG Partners and Penn South aka Mutual Redevelopment Houses, Inc., with financing provided by global holding company Safanad, the structure will span around 200,000 square feet and yield 188 rental units in studio to two-bedroom layouts, as well as a 23,000-square-foot Lidl supermarket and additional ground-floor retail space. Thirty percent of the homes will be reserved for affordable housing. Urban Atelier Group is the general contractor for the property, which is located at the corner of Eighth Avenue and West 26th Street within the Penn South affordable housing cooperative, officially known as Mutual Redevelopment Houses.

32 West 48th Street Rises Above Street Level in Midtown, Manhattan

Construction has begun to rise above street level on 32 West 48th Street, a 31-story hotel tower in Midtown, Manhattan’s Diamond District. Designed by SLCE Architects and developed by Extell, the 456-foot-tall structure will yield 213,158 square feet with 534 guest rooms with an average scope of 316 square feet. AECOM Tishman is the general contractor for the project, which is located between Fifth and Sixth Avenues, directly south of Rockefeller Center.

The Elisa Nears Completion at 251 West 14th Street in Chelsea, Manhattan

Construction is nearing completion on The Elisa, an 11-story residential building at 251 West 14th Street in Chelsea. Designed by Isay Weinfeld Architects, the structure will yield 25 condominium units in one- to three-bedroom layouts with sales and marketing led by Bianca D’Alessio, Christian Haag, and Mia Calabrese of Nest Seekers and SERHANT. Prices range from $1.45 million to $5 million for the four-bedroom penthouse. Pizzarotti is the general contractor for the property, which is located on an interior lot between Seventh and Eighth Avenues near the border of the West Village and the Meatpacking District.

Excavation Underway at 570 Fulton Street in Fort Greene, Brooklyn

Excavation is progressing at 570 Fulton Street, the site of a 23-story mixed-use building along the border of Fort Greene and Downtown Brooklyn. Developed by 570 Fulton St LLC, the 128,872-square-foot structure will yield 155 rental units, ground-floor retail space, a cellar level, and an undisclosed collection of amenities. Developing NY State LLC is the general contractor for the property, which is located between Rockwell Place to the east and Flatbush Avenue to the west.

FIT’s New Academic Building Nears Completion at 220 West 28th Street in Chelsea, Manhattan

Work is nearing completion on Fashion Institute of Technology‘s ten-story New Academic Building at 220 West 28th Street in Chelsea, Manhattan. Designed by SHoP Architects, the 110,000-square-foot structure is engineered to LEED Gold standards and will yield new classrooms, administrative offices, review and exhibition spaces, and a student quad illuminated by skylights. Forte Construction Corp. is the general contractor for the property, which stands on a shallow plot between Seventh and Eighth Avenues on the northernmost edge of the FIT campus.
