Renovation Work Nears Completion on The Surrey, A Corinthia Hotel at 20 East 76th Street on Manhattan’s Upper East Side

Renovation work is nearing completion on 20 East 76th Street, a 16-story hotel on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Designed by BKSK Architects and developed by the Reuben Brothers, the project involves an extensive revamp of the 98-year-old Schwartz & Gross-designed structure that formerly operated as The Surrey hotel and will yield 100 guest rooms, including 30 suites, as well as 14 condominium units on the upper floors. The property is located by the corner of East 76th Street and Madison Avenue and will operate in a collaboration with Miami-based hospitality brand Casa Tua.

250 East 83rd Street Nears the Finish Line on Manhattan’s Upper East Side

Work is nearing completion on 250 East 83rd Street, a 31-story residential tower in the Yorkville section of Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Designed by SLCE Architects and developed by The Torkian Group, the 370-foot-tall structure will span 215,608 square feet and yield 128 rental units with interiors by Lemay_id, as well as ground-floor retail space. The property is located at the corner of Second Avenue and East 83rd Street.

139 Bowery Completes Construction on Manhattan’s Lower East Side

Construction is complete on 139 Bowery, a 14-story mixed-use building in the Bowery section of Manhattan’s Lower East Side. Designed by Raymond Chan Architects and developed by Hung Kwong Leung through the Global Joint Venture, Inc., the structure spans nearly 59,000 square feet and yields 18 condominium units, as well as 14 office units and ground-floor retail space. The project is located on a relatively narrow plot between Broome and Grand Streets, across from the historic Bowery Savings Bank building.

Additional Renderings Revealed For 155 3rd Street in Gowanus, Brooklyn

Additional renderings have been revealed for 155 3rd Street, an upcoming 22-story residential building in Gowanus, Brooklyn. Designed by Dattner Architects with Bernheimer Architecture as the associate design architect and developed by Monadnock Development, the 265,987-square-foot structure will yield 301 rental units with an average scope of 767 square feet, as well as 34,863 square feet of commercial space, 45 enclosed parking spaces, and a 26-foot-long rear yard. The project is located at the intersection of Bond and 3rd Streets, directly next to the Gowanus Canal.

The Alchemy Completes Construction at 50-07 5th Street in Long Island City, Queens

Construction is complete on The Alchemy, a six-story residential building at 50-07 5th Street in the Hunters Point section of Long Island City, Queens. Developed by BK Developers Inc. under the 5007-5009 Development LLC, the structure yields 17 condominium units in one- to two-bedroom layouts, including two ground-floor duplexes. The property is located on an interior plot between 50th and 51st Avenues. Alexander Pereira of Modern Spaces is head sales and marketing for the project.

50 Ninth Avenue Completes Construction in Chelsea, Manhattan

Construction wraps up on 50 Ninth Avenue, a nine-story commercial renovation and expansion at the intersection of Chelsea, the Meatpacking District, and the West Village. Designed by BKSK Architects for Tavros Capital with Fogarty Finger responsible for all interiors and the storefront, the project involved the restoration of a row of landmarked townhomes and the construction of an office structure set back from the street, and yields 57,000 square feet of office space and 30,000 square feet of flexible retail space. Broadway Construction Group is the general contractor for the project. The property is alternately addressed as 351-355 West 14th Street and located at the corner of Ninth Avenue and West 14th Street.

The Ellery Nears Completion At 312 West 43rd Street in Hell’s Kitchen, Manhattan

Construction is almost finished on The Ellery, a 33-story mixed-use tower at 312 West 43rd Street on the southern border of Hell’s Kitchen in Midtown, Manhattan. Designed by Handel Architects and developed by National Real Estate Advisors and Taconic Partners, the 401-foot-tall structure will yield 330 rental units in studio to two-bedrooms layouts, as well as 28,000 square feet of amenities and up to 42,000 square feet of retail space spread across two levels. The property is located between Eighth and Ninth Avenues, directly north of the Port Authority Bus Terminal and its subway station, servicing the A, C, and E trains.

New Renderings Reveal Port Authority Bus Terminal Overhaul in Midtown, Manhattan

Additional renderings and diagrams have been revealed for the proposed overhaul of the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Midtown, Manhattan. Designed by Lord Norman Foster of Foster + Partners and Epstein as a joint venture for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ), the $10 billion project will replace the 74-year-old, 2.1-million-square-foot structure spanning two city blocks between Eighth and Ninth Avenues and West 40th and 42nd Streets. The City Planning Commission has just begun the Uniform Land Use Review Procedure (ULURP) to hear from the public and local community.

Façade Installation Progresses on 200 East 75th Street on Manhattan’s Upper East Side

Façade installation is moving along on 200 East 75th Street, an 18-story residential building in the Lenox Hill section of Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Designed by Beyer Blinder Belle and developed by EJS Development, which purchased the property for $32.5 million in March 2021, the 214-foot-tall structure will span 97,569 square feet and yield 36 condominium units and ground-floor retail space. The property is alternately addressed as 1305-1307 Third Avenue and located at the intersection of Third Avenue and East 75th Street.

211 West 84th Street Rises on Manhattan’s Upper West Side

Construction is rising on 211 West 84th Street, an 18-story residential building on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. Hill West Architects is serving as the architect of record and is being developed by Naftali Group, which purchased the assemblage of properties for $71 million in 2022. The 209-foot-tall structure will span 154,598 square feet and yield 45 condominium units with an average scope of 3,371 square feet, as well as 2,898 square feet of ground-floor retail space, a cellar level, and 17 enclosed parking spaces. The project occupies nearly 250 feet from the corner of Broadway to the middle of the block.
