Memorial Sloan Kettering’s David H. Koch Center for Cancer Care Reaches 12 Stories at 530 East 74th Street, Upper East Side

Construction is now underway on the 12th floor of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center’s 22-story, 750,000-square-foot David H. Koch Center for Cancer Care facility at 530 East 74th Street, located on the corner of the FDR Drive on the Upper East Side. Progress on the project can be seen thanks to photos posted to the YIMBY Forums. At 524 East 74th Street, work still appears to be ongoing below-grade where a 16-story, 403,000-square-foot academic facility is underway for the City University of New York and the Hunter College School of Nursing. The buildings, which will stand 447 feet and 341 feet to their pinnacles, respectively, are designed by Perkins Eastman and Ennead Architects. Completion is expected in 2019.

Renovation Project Underway On 41-Story Mixed-Use Tower At 3 Park Avenue, Midtown South

The 41-story, 977,745-square-foot mixed-use tower known as 3 Park Avenue, located between East 33rd and 34th streets in Midtown South, is set to receive a $30 million renovation. The 556-foot-tall tower’s lobby will be redesigned, the exterior will be modernized, and its 25,000 square feet of retail will see renovations. Other aspects of the project include renovations to the hallways and common areas, and upgraded mechanical infrastructure, Commercial Observer reported. Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects is designing the renovation, with AREA Architects responsible for redesigning the lobby.

Renovation Wraps On Three-Story, 8,900-Square-Foot Mixed-Use Building At 61 Canal Street, Chinatown

Renovations on a three-story, 8,856-square-foot mixed-use building are wrapping up at 61 Canal Street, located on the corner of Allen Street in Chinatown. Retail space will measure 2,143 square feet on the ground floor, followed by 6,713 square feet of community facility space on the second and third floors. Cheng Chio Buddhist Temple, also the property owner, will occupy the community space, Bowery Boogie reported. Rectories will be located on the second floor, worship space on the third, and the cellar will be utilized as a kitchen and storage space. A pagoda was also added up top. Sagnam Chang’s Brooklyn-based Basic Groups Corp. is the architect of record.

Exterior Completion Near For Seven-Story Mixed-Use Building at 71-66 Parsons Boulevard, Pomonok

Last October, we announced a proposal for a seven-story mixed-use building at 71-66 Parsons Boulevard in eastern Queens, put forth by Bi Yuan Chen of Parsons Tower LLC. Quite a lot has been done on the 55-unit project since then, and structural completion is very close. Facade work is expected to start in the near future. Zhong Wang Construction Inc. is listed as the general contractor.

Revealed: Eight-Story, 49-Unit Library-Residential Project Proposed At 5108 Fourth Avenue, Sunset Park

A rendering has been revealed of the proposed eight-story, 49-unit mixed-use project at 5108 Fourth Avenue, located on the corner of 51st Street in Sunset Park. The rendering comes as the project was recently approved by Community Board 7 as part of the city’s Uniform Land Use Review Procedure (ULURP), Brooklyn Daily reported. If all approvals are granted, the new building would feature Brooklyn Public Library’s new Sunset Park branch, measuring 21,000 square feet. There would be 49 affordable rental residential units on the floors above, ranging from studios to three-bedrooms.
