First Two Properties Debut at La Central Affordable Housing Complex in Melrose, The Bronx

This week, developers celebrated the completion of two new affordable housing properties within the sprawling La Central residential complex in Melrose, The Bronx. Located at 556 and 600 Bergen Avenue, buildings A and B comprise nearly 500 income-restricted units, a new YMCA, a production studio for BronxNet, a rooftop farm operated by GrowNYC, and a mix of retail businesses.

Housing Lottery Launches for TF Cornerstone’s 5203 Center Boulevard in Long Island City, Queens

A new mixed-income development from TF Cornerstone in Long Island City, Queens launched its housing lottery on NYC Housing Connect. Designed by ODA Architects, 5203 Center Boulevard will have 800 rental apartments with 534 units designated as permanently affordable. Affordable housing is for residents at 40 to 165 percent of the area median income, ranging in eligible income from $20,606 to $212,685. SLCE is the architect of record and Mathews Nielsen Landscape Architects designed the adjacent 22,000-square-foot park.

City Agencies Update Plans for The Eliza, an Affordable Housing Property and Public Library at 4790 Broadway in Inwood, Manhattan

The New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development, the New York City Housing Development Corporation, and The New York Public Library are working together to launch a new 100-percent affordable housing property in Inwood with a public library, a preschool, and a multitude of community facilities. Located at 4790 Broadway, the 14-story property will debut as The Eliza in honor of Eliza Hamilton, the wife of Alexander Hamilton.

Housing Lottery Launches for 50 Penn at 2628 Fulton Street in East New York, Brooklyn

The affordable housing lottery has launched for 50 Penn, a nine-story mixed-use building in East New York, Brooklyn. The 211,406-square-foot development is designed by Dattner Architects and will yield 218 units. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 175 units for residents at 30 to 80 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $14,640 to $118,400.
