When YIMBY checked in on the bluestone-clad condo building at 155 West 18th Street last month, windows were going in and the facade was snapping into place. Now, we have more renderings of the exterior and the apartments at the 11-story development.
North Development Group has purchased the development assemblage spanning 286-306 Wythe Avenue, in northwestern Williamsburg, for $26.5 million, according to Commercial Observer. The new owner plans to build a mixed-use project of 40 to 50 residential units with retail and community space; the site has 51,200 square feet of development rights. The existing single-story warehouses will be demolished, which is a departure from previously filed plans calling for an expansion of the structures.
The Orthodox community in Borough Park is one of the city’s fastest growing groups, and they’re building plenty of schools to educate their children. Today, YIMBY has the first look at one of these schools – the new headquarters for United Talmudical Academy at 123 Clara Street, on the corner of 36th Street.
As the city considers rezoning 73 industrial blocks along Jerome Avenue in the Bronx, YIMBY has a look at a supportive housing project that will rise under the new zoning in Morris Heights. The 13-story building will fill a long-vacant lot at 1665 Jerome Avenue, across the street from a ramp to the Cross-Bronx Expressway.
Near the end of 2014, YIMBY reported on applications for an eight-story, 32-unit mixed-use building at 109 East 115th Street, in East Harlem, and now Curbed has the project’s reveal, in the form on an on-site rendering. Permits were approved earlier this year, and the project will measure 27,706 square feet in total, including a 5,392 square-foot community facility on the ground floor. Residential units will begin on the second floor and measure an average 700 square feet apiece, indicative of rentals. ACNY Developers Inc. is developing and Midtown-based HTO Architects is the architect of record. Completion is expected in mid-2016.
