Empire State Dairy Expansion Kicks Off at 2840 Atlantic Avenue in East New York, Brooklyn

Work has begun on the expansion and redevelopment of the historic Empire State Dairy Company Building at 2840 Atlantic Avenue in East New York. Designed by Dattner Architects and developed by The Moinian Group and Bushburg, the project involves the partial gutting of the existing low-rise building to support a 14-story tower with 320 residential units, 12,000 square feet of ground-floor commercial space, and a new charter school. Two-Tower Development at 595 Dean Street Nears Completion in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn

Work is nearing completion on 595 Dean Street, a two-building mixed-use development in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn‘s Pacific Park master plan. Designed by Handel Architects and developed by TF Cornerstone, the complex consists of a 28-story East Tower and 23-story West Tower and will yield a combined 798 residential units in studio to two-bedroom layouts, with 240 slated for affordable housing. The development also includes a 103,028-square-foot Chelsea Piers Fitness Center and Field House, a 469-vehicle parking garage, 3,412 square feet of ground-floor retail space, and a 72,600-square-foot public plaza. TFC Pacific Park GC is the general contractor and MNLA is the landscape designer for the property, which is bound by Pacific Street to the north, Dean Street to the south, 550 Vanderbilt Avenue to the east, and 535 Carlton Apartments to the west.

Columbia University Tower Nears Street Level at 600 West 125th Street in Manhattanville, Manhattan

Foundation work is continuing at 600 West 125th Street, a 34-story tower on Columbia University‘s Manhattanville campus. Designed by Renzo Piano Building Workshop and CetraRuddy Architecture and developed by the Trustees of Columbia University, the 391-foot-tall structure will span 175,000 square feet and yield 142 residences for graduate students and faculty, and 5,000 square feet of retail space. LERA is the structural engineer, Thornton Tomasetti is the façade consultant, and Pavarini McGovern is the general contractor for the property, which is located at the corner of Broadway and West 125th Street, adjacent to the elevated 125th Street 1 train station.
