Back in June, YIMBY reported that Greenland Forest City Partners’ filed new building applications for a condominium tower at 615 Dean Street. And now we have the first rendering for the 26-story project, which is being designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox.
A corner lot next to an off-ramp for the Queensboro Bridge seems like an unusual place to build a school or medical center, but one developer intends to do exactly that. New building applications were filed for a seven-story community facility building at 328 East 62nd Street, on the corner of a four-block-long street that cuts north between First and Second Avenues and shuttles cars off the bridge.
Normally when YIMBY sees filings for single-family homes in Manhattan, they’re in the borough’s toniest neighborhoods—the Upper East Side, Tribeca, Gramercy. But today we noticed plans for three new townhouses in Hudson Heights, a slice of Washington Heights that borders Inwood.
In 2013, YIMBY brought you news of the three-tower development URL Harborside planned at 200 Greene Street, on the Jersey City waterfront, and now the first tower has topped out at 69 stories, per Tectonic. The first tower will include 763 apartments and commercial space, but also a significant parking garage. The entire development will total 2,358 units, and Ironstate Development and Mack-Cali Realty Corporation are developing. Amsterdam-based Concrete is designing, and the first tower is expected to be complete in mid-2016.
The New York City Housing Authority has proposed to allow private developers to build mixed-income residential towers on two parking lots at the Wyckoff Gardens public housing facility, in Boerum Hill. According to DNAinfo, the development would total 550 to 650 residential units, and the buildings would be located at 260 and 280 Wyckoff Street. Real Estate Weekly reports the units would be half affordable and half market-rate. Resident meetings will be conducted over the next month.
