TF Cornerstone will soon welcome Chip City Cookies, an expanding New York City-based bakery, as a retail tenant at 278 Seventh Avenue in Chelsea, Manhattan. Designed by FXCollaborative, the 14-story rental property known as Chelsea Centro opened in 2001 and comprises around 133,000 square feet. Chip City Cookies is expected to open at the beginning of next year.
The affordable housing lottery has launched for Federation Nameoke Apartments, a nine-story residential building at 20-50 Nameoke Avenue in Far Rockaway, Queens. Designed by Urban Architectural Initiatives and developed by Federation Nameoke Housing Development, the structure yields 117 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 45 units for residents at 60 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $35,040 to $91,500.
Permits have been filed for a nine-story building to be used as a homeless shelter at 537 West 59th Street on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. Located between Amsterdam and West End Avenues, the lot is near the 59th Street subway station, serviced by the A, B, C, D, and 1 trains. W59th Shelter HDFC is listed as the owner behind the applications of the 7,560-square-foot lot. Project Renewal, a non-profit that offers housing and services for the homeless, will operate the shelter.
Façade installation has reached the halfway mark of 450 Eleventh Avenue, a 51-story hotel skyscraper in Hudson Yards. Designed by DSM Design Group and developed by Marx Development Group, the 642-foot-tall structure will house a 379-room Aloft hotel along with amenities including a business center, a ballroom, and a fourth-floor restaurant with a bar and outdoor terrace. Atria Builders is the general contractor for the project, which is located at the corner of West 37th Street and Eleventh Avenue, directly across from the Jacob K. Javits Center.
Panepinto Properties has closed on a $193 million construction loan to complete Pathside, a 605-unit rental tower in Jersey City. Located at 499 Summit Avenue in the city’s Journal Square neighborhood, the building is designed by HLW International and will top out at 53 stories or about 566 feet.
