Gansevoort Peninsula Park Progresses Along West Village Waterfront, Manhattan

Construction is progressing on Gansevoort Peninsula Park, a new 5.5-acre public recreational space on the Hudson River waterfront in the West Village. Designed by James Corner Field Operations, which was commissioned by the Hudson River Park Trust in January 2019, the upcoming green space is located next to Pier 53 directly across from the Whitney Museum of American Art, and will feature Manhattan’s first public beach.

H Hotel W39 Nears Halfway Mark at 58 West 39th Street in Midtown, Manhattan

Construction is nearing the halfway mark on H Hotel W39, a 28-story hotel tower at 58 West 39th Street in Midtown. Designed by Peter F. Poon Architects and developed by Wei Hong Hu of H Hotel LLC, the 447-foot-tall structure will yield 65 rooms spread over 41,500 square feet along with meeting rooms and a fitness center. City Cross Construction Corp. is the general contractor for the property, which is located on a narrow plot between Fifth and Sixth Avenues, just one block below Bryant Park.

Designed by Elkus Manfredi Architects, the new community offers 132 independent living units for seniors 62 years and up, a collection of health and wellness amenities, and access to local visiting nurse services.

Anish Kapoor’s Bean Sculpture Nears Completion at 56 Leonard Street in Tribeca, Manhattan

Work is nearly complete on Anish Kapoor’s reflective “bean” sculpture at the base of 56 Leonard Street, an 831-foot-tall residential skyscraper in Tribeca. The work sits directly outside the main lobby of the tower, which was designed by Herzog & de Meuron and Hill West Architects and opened in 2017.

The Museum of Chinese in America Reveals Permanent Headquarters at 215 Centre Street in Lower Manhattan

The Museum of Chinese in America has released the first batch of renderings for its permanent new home in Lower Manhattan. Located at 215 Centre Street in Chinatown, the headquarters will expand the existing building where the museum was reportedly paying $600,000 each year in rent.

Designed by Angelo Ng & Anthony Ng Architect, the structure yields 14 residences, seven parking spaces, and ground-floor commercial and community facility space. Available on NYC Housing Connect are five units for residents at 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $85,715 to $167,570.

Designed by Manuel Glas Architects and developed by Dart Interests and Real Estate Inverlad, the 481-foot-tall, 127,000-square-foot structure will yield 38 residences with sales and marketing led by Brown Harris Stevens Development Marketing. Frampton Co. and Champalimaud Design are in charge of the interior design for the condominiums, which include ten full-floor homes and one duplex penthouse. 1059 Third Avenue rises by the intersection of Third Avenue and East 63rd Street.

City Officials Join Project Partners to Celebrate 234 New Affordable Homes at Linden Terrace in East New York, Brooklyn

Developers and New York City officials recently joined to celebrate the first phase of completion at Linden Terrace, a 548-unit affordable housing complex in East New York, Brooklyn. Located at 2858 Linden Boulevard, the building comprises 234 affordable homes. The teams also celebrated the commencement of construction for the second and third buildings, which will eventually comprise 159 and 155 additional affordable apartments.
