Window Installation Progresses at 232 East 54th Street in Midtown East

Window installation is underway at 232 East 54th Street, a topped-out residential building in Midtown East. Designed by Ismael Leyva Architects, the extruded square-shaped, reinforced concrete structure rises 420 feet tall and features a simple grid of windows on all four sides. Elk Investors was listed as the exclusive developer of the building, though ownership may have fully transferred to Mossanen Group and an LLC known as East 54th St. Properties, as per YIMBY’s previous updates on the construction site.

The Taystee Lab Building Tops Out at 450 West 126th Street in Manhattanville

The Taystee Lab Building at 450 West 126th Street recently topped out in West Harlem. The 11-story structure comprises 350,000 square feet and will eventually contain a mix of Class A office space and state-of-the-art lab facilities. The Janus Property Group is responsible for development of the building, while LendLease served as construction manager.

Permits Filed for 1211 Fulton Street in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn

Located between Bedford Avenue and Arlington Place, the interior lot is two blocks west of the Nostrand Avenue subway station, serviced by the A and C trains. Also close by is the Franklin Avenue station, serviced by the C and S trains. Vision Development is listed as the owner behind the applications.

The Hard Rock Hotel is now above street level at 159 West 48th Street in Times Square. The 225,000-square-foot, 445-room hotel is designed by Berg + Moss Architects and is being developed by Extell and Hard Rock International.

Construction on 249 East 50th Street Approaches Halfway Mark in Midtown East

The reinforced concrete superstructure at 249 East 50th Street is approaching the halfway mark in Midtown East. The 15-story, 151-foot-tall residential building has risen steadily since reaching street level near the end of last summer. The project is designed by Isaac Stern and is being developed by Tun Kyaw, who purchased the land for $17 million.

Construction Nears Completion on UAE’s Future Consulate at 315 East 46th Street in Midtown East

Construction is nearing completion on the United Arab Emirates’ new consulate at 315 East 46th Street in the Midtown East neighborhood of Turtle Bay. Located just up the street from the future consulate of the Republic of Turkey, the 145-foot-tall, nine-story reinforced concrete structure is designed by Skidmore Owings & Merrill, developed by Fisher Brothers, and is being built by Plaza Construction.

Work Wrapping Up on Pestana Hotel at 338 West 39th Street in Midtown

YIMBY last did an article on 338 West 39th Street back in August 2015. Sam Chang, a well-known hotelier in New York City, purchased the 50-foot-wide site for $22,500,000, though permits list Brarone Management as the developer behind the address. Stephen B. Jacobs Group is the designer of the 25-story hotel part of Pestana Hotels, a Portugal-base company. The site is located in Midtown, Manhattan between Eight and Ninth Avenues near a number of other hotel chains that have popped up in the past several years.

EQ Office Reveals New Renderings of 1740 Broadway in Midtown
