It’s been two years since YIMBY revealed a rendering for the 10-story rental building in the works at 1535 Bedford Avenue in Crown Heights. Tectonic brings us an update on the project, which is finally under construction on the northeastern corner of Bedford Avenue and Eastern Parkway.
Renderings have been revealed of the 12-story, 305-unit mixed-use project at 443 East 162nd Street, located on the corner of Brook and Elton avenues in the South Bronx’s Melrose section. The project’s developers—the Women’s Housing and Economic Development Corp. Foral Park, N.Y.-based Metropolitan Homes has filed applications for two three-story, three-unit residential buildings at 1727 Undercliff Avenue, in the Morris Heights section of the West Bronx. The buildings will measure 4,410 square feet each. Across both, the residential units should average 924 square feet apiece, indicative of rental apartments with family-sized configurations. Shahriar Afshari’s Roslyn, N.Y.-based architecture firm is the architect of record. The 50-foot-wide, 5,000-square-foot site is occupied by a two-story house. Demolition permits have not been filed.
A Flushing-based property owner has filed applications for an eight-story, 12-unit mixed-use building at 137-70 Northern Boulevard, in downtown Flushing. The project will encompass 54,983 square feet and rise 97 feet to its roof. There will be 14,251 square feet of retail space across parts of the ground through third floors, followed by 5,361 square feet of medical office space on the third floor and 12 apartments across the fourth through eighth floors. The residential units should average 1,580 square feet apiece, which means they will likely be condominiums.
