Ireland-based fashion retailer Primark recently signed a lease for a four-story flagship store at 150 West 34th Street in Midtown, Manhattan. Designed by Gensler, the new store will comprise more 54,000 square feet of retail space and replace the current occupant Old Navy at the 78,000-square-foot building, which was built in 1900 and most recently renovated in 1998. The property is located between Sixth and Seventh Avenues.

Housing Lottery Launches for Union Channel at 240 3rd Avenue in Gowanus, Brooklyn

The affordable housing lottery has launched for Union Channel, a nine-story mixed-use building at 240 3rd Avenue in Gowanus, Brooklyn. Designed by Fogarty Finger and developed by Charney Companies and Tavros Capital, the structure yields 224 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 58 units for residents at 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $31,989 to $167,700.

New Renderings Revealed For 930 McCarter Highway in Newark, New Jersey

New renderings have recently been revealed for 930 McCarter Highway, a 25-story residential building under construction in Newark, New Jersey. Designed by MHS Architects and developed by Boraie Development, the 289-foot-tall structure will span 432,650 square feet and yield 265 market-rate rental units, 68 affordable units, 3,750 square feet of commercial and retail space, and a four-story parking garage capable of holding 240 vehicles. The development is rising on a 1.1-acre waterfront plot bound by the Passaic River to the east and the intersection of McCarter Highway and Center Street to the west.

Journal Squared Tower 3 Completes Construction at 595 Pavonia Avenue In Jersey City, New Jersey

Construction is complete on Journal Squared Tower 3, a 60-story residential skyscraper at 595 Pavonia Avenue in Jersey City, New Jersey. Designed by Handel Architects and HWKN and developed by KRE Group and National Real Estate Advisors, the 575-foot-tall tower is the final component in the $900 million, three-skyscraper Journal Squared complex, which yields a total of 2.3 million square feet above the Journal Square Transportation Center. Journal Squared Tower 1 and 2 stand 53 and 68 stories, respectively.

The property is located on a 9,450-square-foot plot by the intersection of Brighton 4th Street and Ocean View Avenue.

Exterior work is nearing completion on Edgemere Commons’ second all-affordable housing building at 5119 Beach Channel Drive in Far Rockaway, Queens. Designed by Aufgang Architects and developed by Tishman Speyer’s TS Communities, the company’s affordable housing development platform, the 247,000-square-foot structure will yield 237 rental apartments in studio to three-bedroom layouts, with 36 reserved for the formerly homeless, as well as 8,000 square feet of retail space and 7,500 square feet of community facility space. The property, also known as Edgemere Commons Building B1, is located between Beach 50th and Beach 53rd Streets, across from its sister development, Building A1.

Excavation Awaits at 179 22nd Street in South Slope, Brooklyn
