TS Communities, Tishman Speyer’s affordable housing development platform, will soon break ground on the second 100-percent affordable development in Edgemere Commons in Edgemere, Queens. Designed by Aufgang Architects, the master plan will eventually comprise 11 income-restricted residential properties.
The affordable housing lottery has launched for 1135 Teller Avenue, an eight-story residential building in Concourse, The Bronx. Designed by Sion Consulting Engineering and developed by Gurwinder Singh of Kulwant Teller Inc., the structure yields 44 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 43 units for residents at 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $104,880 to $198,250.
Permits have been filed for a four-story residential building at 2158 Aqueduct Avenue East in University Heights, The Bronx. Located between West 181st Street and Clinton Place, the lot is near the 183rd Street subway station, serviced by the 4 train. Mendy Tessler is listed as the owner behind the applications.
YIMBY recently went on a tour of the amenities at 595 Dean Street, a two-tower residential development within the Pacific Park master plan in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn. Designed by Handel Architects and developed by TF Cornerstone, the 28-story East Tower and 23-story West Tower hold a combined unit count of 798 rental apartments ranging from studios to two-bedroom layouts, with 240 offered through the affordable housing lottery on NYC Housing Connect. In addition to 28,750 square feet of outdoor amenity space, exclusive to residents, this development is contributing nearly 60,000 square feet of public park and plaza space, designed by landscape architecture firm MNLA.
