Foundation work is progressing at Project Athena LIC, at 27-20 42nd Road in the Hunter’s Point section of Long Island City, Queens. This will eventually give rise to a ground up eight-story mixed-use residential building designed by Ismael Leyva Architects. YIMBY last reported that the 99-foot-tall development will yield a total of 58,580 square feet, with 36,097 square feet designated for future residential space and 3,345 square feet for the commercial space. 51 residences are expected to be housed inside the edifice, which will most likely be rentals based on the average unit size of 707 square feet. 451 Tenth Avenue’s Terracotta Façade Installation Continues in Hudson Yards, Manhattan

Façade installation is continuing on 451 Tenth Avenue, a 45-story residential skyscraper in Hudson Yards. Designed by Handel Architects, developed and constructed by Related Companies, and co-developed with Spitzer Enterprises, the 587-foot-tall structure will also include a restaurant, an Equinox fitness center, and a senior living facility by Atria Senior Living called Coterie Hudson Yards. The market-rate rental units will have access to amenities such as a movie theater, an outdoor swimming pool, and terrace. March and White Design (MAWD) is serving as the interior designer for the senior homes at 451 Tenth Avenue, which rises from a 17,280-square-foot L-shaped plot at the corner of Tenth Avenue and West 35th Street. The property is a short walk to the 7 train at the 34th Street-Hudson Yards subway station, while a little further east are the A, C, E, 1, 2, and 3 and the NJ Transit and Amtrak trains beneath Pennsylvania Station.
