The Bristal at Englewood in Bergen County, New Jersey has officially kicked off construction of a new, six-story assisted living center. Located at 412 South Van Brunt Street, The Bristal at Englewood is just minutes from major highways including Route 4, Garden State Parkway, Palisades Parkway, the New Jersey Turnpike, and the George Washington Bridge.
Permits have been filed for a four-story residential building at 107 Madison Street in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. The site is four blocks from the Franklin Avenue subway station, serviced by the C and S trains. Eight blocks away is the Bedford-Nostrand Avenue subway station, serviced by the G trains. Infinity Properties is listed as behind the applications.
Yet another new high-rise is officially about to begin rising in Hudson Yards. Permits have been filed for a 43-story hotel at 450 Eleventh Avenue, across from the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center and West 37th Street. The 34th Street Hudson Yards subway station is four blocks away. Atria Builders is responsible for the permit filings, and Flushing-based Marx Development Groups will be responsible for the development.
Plans have been sent to the Landmarks Preservation Commission for a redesign of 42 and 50 Jay Street in DUMBO, Brooklyn. The two buildings were constructed in 1921 and 1891, respectively. The proposal would reintroduce period-appropriate windowing, cleaning of the façade, and additions to both rooftops. Alloy is both designing and developing, and the site will be renamed 168 Plymouth Street once complete.
Walking along the High Line, passing above West 17th Street heading north, one of the newest projects to rise in Chelsea and the Meatpacking District is becoming increasingly prominent. The XI, aka The Eleventh, a set of twisting residential units designed by Danish architecture firm Bjarke Ingels Group, has progressed quickly, with the first of two towers already close to topping out. Now, glass installation has also commenced.
