Construction teams have broken ground at 212 West 124th Street, the site of a new affordable housing tower within the Marcus Garvey Village complex in Central Harlem. From developer Carthage Real Estate Advisors and Body Lawson Associates Architects and Planners, the new building is expected to debut next winter.
New renderings have been released for The 88, an upcoming residential development at 153-10 88th Avenue in Jamaica, Queens. Located at the intersection of 153rd Street and 88th Avenue, the nine-story new construction will comprise 223 studio, one-, and two-bedroom rental units. Thirty percent of the residences will be designated as affordable through the Affordable NY Program with the rest at market rate. Zara Realty is the developer and Corcoran New Development is the exclusive marketing and leasing agent for The 88.
Exterior work is progressing on 278 Eighth Avenue, a 14-story mixed-use building in Chelsea, Manhattan. Designed by FXCollaborative and developed by Alchemy-ABR Investment Partners and Chelsea 23rd Realty Corporation, an LLC affiliated with JJ Operating, the 175-foot-tall structure will yield 132,700 square feet with 190 rental apartments and multiple levels of retail space. Square Mile Capital and Pacific Western Bank provided $183 million in construction financing for the project, which is being constructed by Leeding Builders Group between West 23rd and West 24th Streets.
Façade installation is moving along on 69 Adams Street, a 26-story residential building in DUMBO, Brooklyn. Designed by Fariba Makooi of Fischer + Makooi Architects and developed by Rabsky Group, the 280-foot-tall structure will span 258,200 square feet and yield 225 units in studio to two-bedroom layouts, as well as 60 feet of retail frontage, a 25-foot-long rear yard, and 61 parking spaces. Galaxy Developers is the general contractor for the property, which is bound by Front Street to the north, York Street to the south, the elevated Manhattan Bridge roadway to the east, and Adams Street to the west.
The Westchester Industrial Development Agency (IDA) has approved a $9 million financial incentives package for a warehouse-to-residential conversion project at 39 Westmoreland Avenue in White Plains. Led by Florida-based developer Mill Creek Residential Trust, the vacant century-old warehouse will yield 163,000 square feet and debut at Modera White Plains.
