Extell Acquires Large East Bronx Commercial Development Site At 2505 Bruckner Boulevard

Extell Development has purchased the East Bronx property at 2505 Bruckner Boulevard, in Schuylerville, from Lightstone Group for $41 million. The development site is currently occupied by the former 14-screen Whitestone Mutiplex Cinemas building, which Lightstone shut down in 2013 with plans to build a shopping complex. The one-million square-foot property boasts roughly 829,000 square feet of commercial development rights, according to The Real Deal.

Large Commercial Development Site At 40-70 Delong Street Purchased, Flushing

Sam Chang’s Great Neck-based McSam Hotel Group has sold their development site at 40-70 Delong Street, in downtown Flushing, to Flushing Point Holdings LLC for $44.5 million, according to Commercial Observer. The property consists of two tax lots currently occupied by a two-story warehouse building, but boasts 394,930 square feet of commercial development rights or 557,549 square feet of rights with the inclusion of community facility space. Plans for the site have not been disclosed.

Meals on Wheels of Staten Island will be getting a new home, thanks to Tuesday’s approval from the Landmarks Preservation Commission. The beloved organization has outgrown its home in Richmond County and the city found it a site at the former Seaview Hospital tuberculosis treatment campus, which sits in the New York City Farm Colony – Seaview Hospital Historic District. The address is listed as 460 Brielle Avenue. In July, a presentation was made to the commission, but it was found to be too industrial for the setting. The revised design easily won over the commissioners.

In September, YIMBY revealed renderings for an office and retail conversion of the two-story, 20,000 square-foot building at 120 North 6th Street, in north Williamsburg, and now renderings have surfaced for another similar development right across the street at 124-136 North 6th Street. At Nos. 124-136, Thor Equities is planning to expand the existing single-story building into a three-story, 20,400 square-foot retail and manufacturing property, with retail on the ground floor and manufacturing on the second and third floors. Building Studio Architects is the architect of record.
