New construction permits have been filed for a 17-story mixed-use building at 183 Chrystie Street on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. Located between Delancey Street and Rivington Street, the lot is near the Bowery Street subway station, serviced by the J and Z trains and the Grand Street station, serviced by the B and D trains. David Paz of Omnia Group under the AEH-VSLV, LLC is listed as the owner behind the applications, and previously filed for a nine-story mixed-use with 26 residences.

239 Nevins Street Cleared for Excavation in Gowanus, Brooklyn

Excavation is set to begin at 239 Nevins Street, the site of a potential 260,000-square-foot residential building in Gowanus, Brooklyn. Developed by Charney Companies and Tavros Capital, which purchased the property from Atkins & Breskin for $13.47 million in a deal brokered by CBRE, the project’s scope includes 26,465 square feet of air rights acquired from an adjacent building. The lot, also addressed as 251 Douglas Street, was formerly occupied by a 10,000-square-foot one-story garage and is located at the corner of Nevins and Douglas Streets.

Interiors Revealed for Gotham Point’s North Tower in Long Island City, Queens

New renderings reveal the interior photography of Gotham Point’s North Tower, a 57-story residential skyscraper at 1-15 57th Avenue in Hunters Point South, Queens. Designed by Handel Architects with interiors designed by BHDM, and developed by Gotham Organization in partnership with RiseBoro Community Partnership, the North Tower rises along the waterfront of Long Island City.

Excavation Imminent for Four-Building Complex at 300 Nevins Street in Gowanus, Brooklyn

Excavation is set to begin at 300 Nevins Street, the site of a two-building residential project in Gowanus, Brooklyn. Designed by Fogarty Finger and developed by Charney Companies and Tavros Capital, the 600,000-square-foot complex will yield 654 rental units with 25 percent designated as affordable housing, as well as ground-floor retail space and a public waterfront esplanade designed by James Corner Field Operations. Broadway Construction Group is the general contractor for the 2.3-acre full-block property, which is bound by Union Street to the north, Carroll Street to the south, Nevins Street to the east, the Gowanus Canal to the west.

SecureSpace Self Storag Facility Nears Completion at 424 East 90th Street on Manhattan’s Upper East Side

Exterior work is nearing completion on 424 East 90th Street, a ten-story SecureSpace Self Storage facility in the Yorkville section of Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Designed by Tao Architecture + Design and developed by Parkland Group under the 424 East 90th Street LLC, the 131-foot-tall structure will yield 104,000 square feet with 80,399 square feet for storage space, a cellar level, a 30-foot long rear yard, and three loading berths. PB Brown NYC is the general contractor for the project, which is located between First and York Avenues.

Foundation Work Progresses at 585 Union Street in Gowanus, Brooklyn

Foundation work is progressing at 585 Union Street, the site of a nine-story residential building in Gowanus, Brooklyn. Designed by Fogarty Finger and developed by Tavros Capital, Charney Companies, and Canyon Partners, the 95-foot-tall structure will span 167,000 square feet and yield 214 rental units in studio to three-bedroom layouts, with 25 percent designated as affordable housing, as well as 8,900 square feet of ground-floor commercial space. Broadway Construction Group is the general contractor for the property, which is bound by Sackett to the north, Union Street to the south, and 3rd Avenue to the east.

Demolition Continues at 450 Union Street in Gowanus, Brooklyn

Demolition is moving along at 450 Union Street, the site of an eight-story mixed-use building in Gowanus, Brooklyn. Designed by BKSK Architects and developed by Pilot Real Estate Group, the 100-foot-tall structure will span 68,999 square feet and yield 24 condominium units spread across 25,500 square feet, 43,499 square feet of commercial space on the first two stories, and a 30-foot long rear yard. Candid Demolition is the demolition contractor for the property, which is located at the corner of Union and Bond Streets.

Façade Installation Begins on 550 Tenth Avenue in Hell’s Kitchen, Manhattan

Work is unfolding rapidly on 550 Tenth Avenue, a 47-story residential skyscraper in Hell’s Kitchen, Manhattan. Designed by Handel Architects and developed by Gotham Organization and Goldman Sachs Asset Management JV, the 520-foot-tall structure will yield 430,000 square feet and 453 rental units, with 137 reserved for affordable housing, as well as 9,000 square feet of lower-level retail space, over 20,000 square feet of amenities, and 26,764 square feet of administrative office space for Covenant House. GO Covenant LLC is the owner and Monadnock Construction is the general contractor for the property, which is located along Tenth Avenue between West 40th and 41st Streets.

499 President Street Readies for Excavation in Gowanus, Brooklyn

Designed by SLCE Architects and developed by The Brodsky Organizationwith Avery Hall Investments, the 322,000-square-foot structure will yield 350 rental units in studio to two-bedrooms layouts, with 25 percent designated for affordable housing, as well as 20,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space. Urban Atelier Group is the general contractor for the 1.6-acre property, which is bound by Union Street to the north, President Street to the south, and Nevins Street to the west.

Two-Tower Development Taking Shape at 267 Bond and 498 Sackett Streets in Gowanus, Brooklyn

Foundation work is wrapping up on Society Brooklyn and Sackett Place, a pair of 21-story residential buildings at 267 Bond Street and 498 Sackett Street in Gowanus, Brooklyn. Designed by SLCE Architects and developed by Property Markets Group, which acquired both plots for $9 million in 2021, the complex will yield a combined 594,000 square feet with 517 residential units and 52,000 square feet of commercial space. The development is proceeding with $18.5 million in financing from Maxim Capital Group. Urban Atelier Group is the general contractor for the project, which is bound by DeGraw Street to the north, Sackett Street to the south, the Gowanus Canal to the east, and Bond Street to the west.
