Trader Joe’s Leases Space In Planned Office Building At 206 Kent Avenue, Williamsburg

Trader Joe’s has leased 18,000 square feet in Alliance Private Capital’s planned 45,000 square-foot mixed-use commercial building, which will include offices on the upper levels, at 206 Kent Avenue, a block in from the East River in Williamsburg. According to Crain’s Business, the grocery store will take space on the ground and basement levels. New building applications have not yet been filed, but the lot is currently vacant; the site’s former two-story warehouse was demolished in 2013.

Eight-Story Building At 880 Bergen Avenue Slated For Residential Conversion, Journal Square

The eight-story, 45,000 square-foot mixed-use office building at 880 Bergen Avenue, in Jersey City’s Journal Square, has been purchased for $5.6 million by Bergen Academy Associates. The art deco building is slated for a residential conversion by the new owners, although it’s not known if the ground-floor commercial-retail will remain. GRID Real Estate and CBRE marketed the property.

Nearly 19,000 Square-Foot Clubhouse Filed At Ferry Point Park, Throggs Neck

The NYC Parks Dept. has filed applications for the clubhouse in Ferry Point Park, at 300 Hutchinson River Parkway, located in Throggs Neck. The Trump Organization is developing the single-story structure, which will measure 18,830 square feet, and will include multiple bar/grills, dining rooms and a pro shop. Renderings of the Hart Howerton-designed structure were revealed a few weeks ago, and completion is scheduled for the first half of 2016.

Landmarks Rejects Proposal For New Meals On Wheels Building At Seaview Colony On Staten Island

Meals on Wheels of Staten Island says it has outgrown its existing building and needs a new one. The city has found them a plot of land, officially listed as 460 Brielle Avenue, at the former Seaview Hospital site (which is across from the New York City Farm Colony, which is being redeveloped as a senior housing complex called Landmark Colony). The design was presented to the Landmarks Preservation Commission on Tuesday, but did not pass muster. The commissioners didn’t feel it fit in well enough with its surroundings.
