A KFC franchise will likely bite the dust at the corner of Bushwick and Myrtle Avenues in Bushwick to make way for a six-story, mixed-use building. New building applications have been filed to erect a combination of apartments, retail and community facilities at 668 Bushwick Avenue.
Princeton Holdings’ vertical expansion of a former three-story building at 139 Ludlow Street, on the Lower East Side, has topped-out, according to Bowery Boogie. The building has gained a fourth floor and now measures 16,500 square feet, and new masonry is also currently being installed. The building will be entirely commercial, and features a rooftop terrace. Lee Levine, based in Hoboken, New Jersey, is the architect of record, and completion can probably be expected early next year.
Yesterday, Mayor de Blasio and City Council Speaker Mark-Viverito rolled out several initiatives to create industrial jobs across the city, including a fund for new manufacturing space and a stricter permitting process for hotels planned in industrial zones.

Related Companies and Oxford Properties have signed private equity firm KKR & Co. for their 90-story office tower at 30 Hudson Yards, and they’ve sent out some new renderings of the building to highlight the announcement.
