Construction Reaches Top of 1245 Broadway’s Podium in NoMad

Construction has reached the top of the podium section at 1245 Broadway, a 23-story, 200,000-square-foot commercial office building NoMad. Workers from StructureTech NY and Triton Construction are continuing to tie the steel rebar and build the formwork for the reinforced concrete perimeter columns and floor slabs. Designed by Skidmore Owings and Merrill and co-developed by GDSNY and Sweden-based Klovern, the building will eventually top out at 318 feet tall. CBRE began leasing the building’s class A office space in late 2019.

Morris Adjmi Architects’ The Warehouse Nears Completion at 520 West 20th Street in Chelsea

Exterior work is wrapping up on The Warehouse, a mixed-use office conversion of an industrial building with a rooftop addition at 520 West 20th Street in West Chelsea. Designed by Morris Adjmi Architects and developed by Elijah Equities, the property is located between West 19th Street and West 20th Street, steps away from the High Line.

LPC Approves Major Restoration Plan For Terminal Warehouse in Chelsea

L & L Holding Company and Normandy Real Estate Partners will soon begin a large-scale renovation and revitalization of the historic Terminal Warehouse following unanimous approval by the city’s Landmarks Preservation Commission. Designed in collaboration by COOKFOX Architects, the 1.2 million-square-foot facility located at 261 Eleventh Avenue in West Chelsea will be redeveloped to support a mix of office space, retail tenants, and restaurants.

New Renderings Revealed for 3 Hudson Boulevard in Hudson Yards

A set of new renderings were recently unveiled by the project team for 3 Hudson Boulevard, a long-planned high-rise at the edge of Hudson Yards in Manhattan. While construction at the property has barely reach grade-level, Boston Properties and The Moinian Group have released new specific details surrounding the future office tower.

Foundations for Gene Kaufman Architect‘s ten-story commercial office building at 76 Eighth Avenue are taking shape. Developed by Sang Lee, Noviprop, and Plus Development, the 35,000-square-foot, 120-foot-tall structure is located at the intersection of Eighth Avenue and West 14th Street on the border of the Meatpacking District and West Village neighborhoods.

Norman Foster’s Design for Two World Trade Center Will Get A New Redesign, in Lower Manhattan

Exciting and long-awaited news has been announced in the Financial District, as a return to the original architect for Two World Trade Center has been confirmed. The New York Post reports that Norman Foster’s original 2006 supertall proposal, aka 200 Greenwich Street, is getting another shot at becoming a reality with a more updated design. In 2018, YIMBY was the first to indicate this was a possibility in an interview with Larry Silverstein, head of Silverstein Properties, who said Foster’s vision was still on the table, although at that point the Bjarke Ingels design was the apparent lead contender for construction.

Turkevi Center’s Glass Façade Closes in on Completion at 821 First Avenue in Midtown East

Installation of the reflective glass curtain wall on the Turkevi Center at 821 First Avenue is nearing the finish line. The panels gracefully wrap around the curved corners of the 563-foot-tall superstructure in the Midtown East neighborhood of Turtle Bay. Perkins Eastman is the designer of the 35-story mixed-use development, which will eventually serve as the consulate of the Republic of Turkey.

Renderings Revealed of Proposed Transformation for William Ulmer Brewery in Bushwick, Brooklyn

The Landmarks Preservation Commission is reviewing proposals to renovate the William Ulmer Brewery at 71-83 Beaver Street in Bushwick, Brooklyn. As envisioned by DXA Studio, the building’s façade would receive a major facelift with interiors repurpose for retail and office use.

The Taystee Lab Building Tops Out at 450 West 126th Street in Manhattanville

The Taystee Lab Building at 450 West 126th Street recently topped out in West Harlem. The 11-story structure comprises 350,000 square feet and will eventually contain a mix of Class A office space and state-of-the-art lab facilities. The Janus Property Group is responsible for development of the building, while LendLease served as construction manager.
