Major Renovation Project Revealed for 1345 Avenue of The Americas in Midtown, Manhattan

Earlier this week, Fisher Brothers Management Company unveiled the first new images of its $120 million renovation to 1345 Avenue of the Americas, a 625-foot-tall mid-century office skyscraper in Midtown. The improvements include a Wi-Fi-enabled public park with large-scale art installations, upgrades to the lobby, and the addition of a conference and amenity floor.

100 Pearl Street’s Exterior Overhaul Progresses in the Financial District, Manhattan

Work is progressing on 100 Pearl Street, a project to renovate the lower floors of the mixed-use Financial District building to an expanded, more pedestrian-friendly arcade, as well as upgrades at the roof level. Alternately addressed as 7 Hanover Square, the overhaul is being designed by S9 Architecture and developed by GFP Real Estate and will feature 1,450 square feet of indoor public space plantings, 10 to 18 food and beverage retailers, at least two new retail shops on Pearl Street and at least two on Water Street, kiosks, 167 new seats, and new lobby space.

Domino Sugar Refinery Prepares for Office Conversion at 292 Kent Avenue in Williamsburg, Brooklyn

Construction work is ramping up for the office conversion of the 140-year-old Domino Sugar Refinery at 292 Kent Avenue in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Designed by Practice for Architecture and Urbanism (PAU) and developed by Two Trees, the project is the centerpiece of the Domino Sugar master plan by SHoP Architects and James Corner Field Operations and involves the construction of a massive barrel-vaulted glass roof atop the former factory. When complete, the structure will top out at 235 feet tall, while the interiors will be gutted and restored. Levels one through four, as well as 14 and 15 will have their ceiling spans increased, and the 16th floor will be eliminated.
