Construction Progresses on 51 Ash Street in Greenpoint, Brooklyn

Construction is progressing on 51 Ash Street, a five-story mixed-use hotel in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Designed by Jeffrey Kamen Architect and developed by a non-profit organization formerly known as the North Brooklyn Boat Club, the 60-foot-tall structure will span 18,106 square feet and yield 11 hotel rooms spread across 9,856 square feet, as well as an 8,250-square-foot community facility for the North Brooklyn Community Boathouse (NBCB), a non-profit volunteer-run organization providing boating access to NYC waterways, workshops, and educational programs. Brooklyn Construction Group is the general contractor for the project, which is located on a narrow strip of land along Ash Street between Newtown Creek and the Pulaski Bridge.

Maison Hudson Completes Construction At 401 West Street in Manhattan’s West Village

Construction is complete on Maison Hudson, an eight-story, seven-unit hotel-rental building at 401 West Street on the Hudson River waterfront in Manhattan’s West Village. Designed by Thomas Juul Hansen and Hill West Architects and developed by Wainbridge Capital, Vector Building Corporations was the general contractor for the project, which is located on an interior lot between West 10th and Charles Streets, across from Hudson River Park and the Christopher Street Pier. Erin Boisson Aries of Douglas Elliman Developement Marketing is in charge of leasing and marketing the rooms and single penthouse unit at the property.

Below-grade work is in full swing at 11-36 45th Road, the site of a seven-story mixed-use building in Long Island City, Queens. Designed by Raymond Chan Architect and developed by George Jiapeng Xu of Century Development Group, the 75-foot-tall structure will span 103,481 square feet and yield 119 rental units with an average scope of 676 square feet, as well as 22,965 square feet of community facility space and 52 enclosed parking spaces in the cellar level. Century Construction Group Corp. is the general contractor for the property, which is bound by 45th Road to the north, 46th Avenue to the south, and 21st Street to the east.

Demolition Underway for Brooklyn Clean Energy Hub in Vinegar Hill, Brooklyn

Demolition is underway on the Hudson Avenue Generating Station, the site of Con Edison’s Brooklyn Clean Energy Hub in Vinegar Hill. Dubbed “The Hub,” the transmission substation will be capable of powering around 750,000 homes with up to 1,500 megawatts of electricity from offshore wind power. ConEdison designed the new structure to allow for future expandability, with a maximum processing capacity of 6,000 megawatts. The site is bound by Marshall Street to the south, Hudson Avenue to the east, and Gold Street and the Con Edison Farragut Station to the west. A groundbreaking ceremony was held last September and construction is expected to begin around the middle of this year.

Designed by Zproekt Architecture and developed by Sergey Rybak under the 660 Lexington Avenue Development LLC, the 233-foot-tall structure will span 52,558 square feet and yield 23 condominium units with an average scope of 2,123 square feet, as well as 2,551 square feet of commercial space, 1,174 square feet of community facility space, and a cellar level. Rybak Development Corp. is the general contractor for the property, which is alternately addressed as 133 East 55th Street and located at the corner of Lexington Avenue and East 55th Street.
