Demolition Underway at 1841 and 1845 Broadway on the Upper West Side

Demolition is continuing at 1841 and 1845 Broadway on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, where a 24-story mixed-use building is planned to rise. Scaffolding and black netting completely shroud 1841 Broadway, and it appears that the neighboring structure at 1845 Broadway has been partially razed. Both properties are owned by Global Holdings Management Group and Ancora Engineering is listed as the applicant of record on demolition permits, which were filed late last year.

2505 Broadway Passes Halfway Mark on the Upper West Side

Construction has passed the halfway mark on 2505 Broadway, a 19-story residential development on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. Designed by ODA Architecture LPC and developed by Tomer Yogev of Adam America Real Estate, the 210-foot-tall structure will yield 44 units. The land was purchased for $50 million by MSD Partners in September 2018 and required the demolition of two low-rise buildings before excavation could commence the following year.

The Hive’s Renovations Take Shape at 300 West 43rd Street in Midtown

Renovation work is progressing at The Hive, a two-building complex along Eighth Avenue between West 42nd Street and West 43rd Street in Midtown. Hive 42, the taller structure, occupies an L-shaped plot at 303 West 42nd Street and stands 13 stories tall. Directly to the north is Hive 43, a six-story industrial building at 300 West 43rd Street. Both have been in the process of being transformed into a new mixed-use development with offices and ground-floor retail space. The project is being designed by Gertler & Wente Architects, developed by KRW Realty Advisors, and managed by Hive Management LLC.

Exterior Work Finishes on Verizon Executive Education Center and Graduate Hotel, on Roosevelt Island

The finishing touches are wrapping up on the Verizon Tech Executive Education Center and the adjoining Graduate Hotel at 22 North Loop Road on Roosevelt Island. Designed by Snøhetta, the 18-story hotel is managed by Graduate Hotels and will contain 224 rooms, while the four-story education center will feature a number of spaces for academic conferences, executive programs, seminars, and workshops. Skidmore, Owings & Merrill is the master planner and Hudson CompaniesRelated Companies, and Brookfield are developing the entire Cornell Tech campus, which sits just south of the Queensboro Bridge’s central span.
