Construction is rising rapidly on The Nova, a 24-story residential project at 41-05 29th Street in Long Island CityQueens. Designed by Fogarty Finger and developed by SB Development Group, the 290-foot-tall structure will yield 86 homes and ground-floor retail space on a triangular plot at the confluence of 29th Street and 41st Avenue. The developers recently secured a construction loan from SCALE Lending worth $55 million to complete the project.

Handel Architects’ 34-story ‘Parcel G’ Nears Completion In Hunters Point South, Queens

Exterior work is nearing the closing stages on Parcel G, a 34-story residential building in Hunters Point South, Queens. Designed by Handel Architects and developed by Gotham Organization, the 443-unit tower stands alongside Parcel F, its taller sibling, and is located by the intersection of 2nd Street and 56th Avenue. Parcel F will have a number of units dedicated to affordable housing, as well as a community facility for Flux Factory and kayak rentals on the lower levels of the edifice. Both towers occupy a formally empty plot perched atop a hill overlooking the Hunters Point South Park Extension. This 1.5-acre tidal marsh has winding walkways, green lawns, boardwalks, and lush landscaping, all carefully designed as a buffer against storm surges.

Construction has passed the halfway mark on Parcel F, a 58-story residential tower in Hunters Point South, Queens. Designed by Handel Architects and developed by Gotham Organization, the structure will yield 689 residential units alongside Parcel G, its 34-story, 443-unit sibling. A grade school will be located in the podium of the complex, between the two ground-up towers. The property sits at the confluence of the East River and Newtown Creek, bound by Center Boulevard to the north, 56th Avenue to the east, and 57th Avenue to the west.

227 West Street’s Façade Installation Continues in Greenpoint, Brooklyn

Façade installation is continuing to progress on 227 West Street, a pair of 30- and 40-story residential towers with complementary stepped cantilevers and setbacks in GreenpointBrooklyn. Designed by OMA with Beyer Blinder Belle as the architect of record and developed by both Brookfield Property Partners and Park Tower Group, the mixed-use project is part of the 22-acre Greenpoint Landing development along the East River. James Corner Field Operations is the landscape architect, DeSimone Consulting Engineers is the structural engineer, Thornton Tomasetti is the façade consultant, and Highbury Concrete is responsible for building the 450- and 351-foot tall reinforced concrete edifices, which are rising right off the corner of Eagle and West Streets.

52-03 and 52-41 Center Boulevard Nearing Completion in Hunters Point South, Queens

Exterior work is getting close to completion on 52-03 Center Boulevard, a 587-foot-tall skyscraper in Hunters Point, Queens, and its shorter 475-foot-tall sibling at 52-41 Center Boulevard. Designed by ODA Architecture with SLCE Architects as the architect of record, the 46- and 56-story towers are part of TF Cornerstone‘s Hunters Point South development, which is set to yield a grand total of 1,194 residential units. Of these, 719 will be designated for affordable housing. 52-03 and 52-41 Center Boulevard are situated along the waterfront esplanade of the East River and are bound by Center Boulevard to the west, Borden Avenue to the north, 2nd Street to the east, and 54th Avenue to the south.
