10-Story Mixed-Use Building Nears Completion at 179 Suffolk Street, Lower East Side

In October 2014, a 10-story, eight-unit mixed-use building was rising at 179 Suffolk Street, at East Houston Street on the Lower East Side. Bowery Boogie reports the nearly 14,500 square-foot structure topped out last Spring, and now façade installation is nearly complete. The first two levels will be occupied by a religious facility, and opening is likely within the coming months. First Lease Signed At 55 Hudson Yards, 51-Story, 780-Foot-Tall Office Building

The law firm Boies, Schiller & Flexner has signed a lease for 83,000 square feet at 55 Hudson Yards, a 51-story, 1.3 million square-foot office building in the works on the Far West Side. According to The Wall Street Journal, who first broke the news, the lease is the tower’s first. In March, YIMBY brought you news of excavation work beginning, and currently, foundation work is underway. Related, Mitsui Fudosan America, and Oxford Properties Group are developing, and opening is slated for 2018.

New Mixed-Use Tower Planned at 451 Tenth Avenue, Hudson Yards

Spitzer Enterprises has filed applications with City Planning for a roughly 414,700 square-foot mixed-use building at 451 10th Avenue, in the Hudson Yards district. The building will have 311,000 square feet of office and retail space, and 103,700 square feet for an upper-level residential portion. Crain’s Business reported in April 2014 Maddd Equities is leasing the site, and the potential building could rise to 700 feet in height.

Single-Story, Three-Unit Retail Building Replacing Gas Station At 108-01 Atlantic Avenue, Richmond Hill

Property owner Simkho Aranbayev has filed applications for a single-story, roughly 7,600 square-foot commercial-retail building spanning 108-01 – 108-13 Atlantic Avenue, in eastern Richmond Hill. The building will have three retail units, and Dal H Chun Engineer is the applicant of record. The existing gas station was approved for demolition earlier this year.
