The Brooklyn Baptist Chinese Church, doing business as Siloam Ministries Inc., has filed applications for a new six-story, 11,512 square-foot church facility at 913 45th Street, in Sunset Park, located two blocks west of the Fort Hamilton Parkway stop on the D train. The building would contain a house of worship on the ground floor, a dining hall and kitchen in the cellar, and five floors of accessory office space. Shiming Tam’s Brooklyn-based architecture firm is the applicant of record. An existing two-story brick building must first be demolished.

Six Three-Family Residential Buildings Planned At 4515 18th Avenue, Borough Park

Shimon Lichtenstein, doing business as a Brooklyn-based LLC, has filed applications to build four, three-family residential buildings at 4545 18th Avenue, on the edge of Borough Park. Each of the buildings will measure 4,587 square feet, and full-floor units will average a specious 1,529 square feet apiece. Queens-based Grigori Zinkevitch is the architect of record. The site must first be subdivided into four 22-foot-wide tax lots, and an existing single-story auto-shop will have to be demolished. Future residents will be conveniently located around the corner from the 18th Avenue stop on the F train.

State Moves Forward With Penn Station Renovations & Moynihan Station Plans

Gov. Andrew Cuomo is preparing to issue a request-for-proposals later this week to renovate and upgrade Pennsylvania Station, located under Madison Square Garden on Eighth Avenue between West 31st and 33rd Streets. According to the Observer, the project is part of the $26 billion investment in the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA), with the state contributing $8.3 billion. Multiple plans for a new entrance have already been put forth, one of which involves the demolition of the MSG Paramount Theater in replace of a glass enclosure, seen in these latest renderings.

Developers Plan 86-Story, 1,100-Foot-Tall Mixed-Use Tower At 45 Broad Street, Financial District

Back in the fall of 2015, Madison Equities and Pizzarotti-IBC closed on the purchase of the 45 Broad Street development site in the Financial District, and now Curbed reports the pair are planning an 86-story, 245-unit residential tower. The supertall – being designed by CetraRuddy – would stretch 1,100 feet into the sky, although some details are still being finalized. In addition, five floors of commercial space are planned, and future residents will have access to amenities including, but not limited to, a swimming pool, a gym, and a lounge. New building applications are expected sometime this summer, and groundbreaking is scheduled for later this fall. A tentative completion date is slated for 2018.

Five-Story, Six-Unit Mixed-Use Building Filed At 1031 Broadway, Bushwick

Long Island-based Hersel Sakhaee has filed applications for a five-story, six-unit mixed-use building at 1031 Broadway, in northern Bushwick, located three blocks down from the Myrtle Avenue stop on the J/M/Z trains. The project will measure 6,750 square feet in total and includes a 1,687 square-foot ground-floor retail portion. The residential units will begin on the second floor and average 844 square feet apiece. Hudson Valley-based Kenneth Thomas is the applicant of record.
