12-Story, 105-Unit Mixed-Use Building Rising At 470 Fourth Avenue, Gowanus

In 2014, YIMBY brought you new renderings of the 12-story, 105-unit mixed-use building planned at 470 4th Avenue/237 11th Street, in Gowanus, and now Brownstoner reports the building is four stories above ground, and rising. Adam America, Slate Property Group and Naveh Shuster Group are developing, while Aufgang Architects is designing. The project, located a block from subway stops for the F, G and R trains, will include 5,260 square feet of retail space on the ground floor, and a 2017 completion date appears likely.

29-Story, 249-Key Hotel Finally Rising At 6 Water Street, Financial District

In February of 2014, YIMBY reported on filings for a 29-story, 249-key hotel at 6 Water Street, in the Financial District, and later that year, revealed an on-site rendering of the project, which is being designed by Gene Kaufman. Courtesy of a YIMBY reader, photos confirm the building is finally rising, and it’s now one floor above street level. Rhode Island-based Magna Hospitality Group is developing, after acquiring the site from prolific hotel builder Sam Chang last year for $44.3 million. Signage indicates an anticipated completion date of this coming winter, though that would seem unlikely.

Four-Story, Eight-Unit Residential Project Planned At 102-18 Corona Avenue, Corona

Guohui He, doing business as Excellent Fortune Property LLC, has filed applications for a four-story, eight-unit residential building at 102-18 Corona Avenue, in Corona, seven blocks south of the 7 train’s stop at 103rd Street. The building will measure just 5,276 square feet, which means units will average a rental-sized 660 square feet. Flushing-based Zheng & Associates is the applicant of record, and the project will expand upon the existing structure.

15-Story, 228-Unit Mixed-Use Building Tops Out At 180 Myrtle Avenue, Fort Greene

In April of 2014, YIMBY revealed renderings of Red Apple Group’s 15-story mixed-use building at 180 Myrtle Avenue, in Fort Greene, and a year later, the structure was two stories above street level and rising. According to Brooklyn Daily, the structure has topped out and slightly larger than originally planned. The building — dubbed The Margo — will have 228 residential units, 40 of which will be rented at below-market rates. The ground floor will feature 10,600 and 500 square feet of retail and community health space, respectively. Dattner Architects is designing, and completion is expected in the spring of 2016.
