Three-Story, 22,900-Square-Foot Expansion Planned At P.S. 066 Jaqueline Kennedy Onassis, 85-11 102nd Street, Richmond Hill

The New York City School Construction Authority (SCA) has filed applications for a three-story, 22,896-square-foot expansion of P.S. 066 Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, located at 85-11 102nd Street on the western end of Richmond Hill in Queens. The expansion will be built on the northern side of the existing structure, at the address 85-05 102nd Street, and will increase the size of the facility to 62,316 square feet. There will be a cafeteria in the basement, a pre-kindergarten wing on the ground floor, a kindergarten wing on the second floor, along with a nurse’s office, and additional classrooms, offices, and exercise rooms on the third floor. AECOM is the architect of record. YIMBY has reported on four other school projects filed by the city this past week.

Nine-Story, 32-Unit Residential Project Tops Out At 42-50 27th Street, Long Island City.

The nine-story, 32-unit residential project under development at 42-50 27th Street, in Long Island City’s Queens Plaza/Court Square section, has topped out. The structure can be seen in a photograph by The Court Square Blog. The new building measures 35,294 square feet and rises 89 feet above the street level. Its residential units should average 777 square feet apiece, which means the apartment will likely be rentals, although smaller condominiums are slowly becoming more attractive and are a possibility here. The Ampiera Group is the developer and Flushing-based MY Architect is behind the architecture. Completion is expected next year.


3350 Park Avenue

Two-Story, 138,600-Square-Foot Self-Storage Facility Coming To 3350 Park Avenue, Morrisania

Property owner Larry Ahern has filed applications for a two-story, 138,600-square-foot self-storage facility at 3350 Park Avenue, located on the corner of East 165th Street in the South Bronx’s Morrisania section. The project will have 90,600 square feet of commercial space, which is the area that can be rented out as storage space. Ceiling heights will also measure roughly 20 feet, so it could be that the building gets partially used for industrial purposes. Accessory offices will be located on the ground floor. There will also be four loading berths and 15 off-street parking spaces. Frank G. Relf’s Melville, N.Y.-based architecture firm is the architect of record. The 90,800-square-foot lot is partially occupied by a collection of single-story commercial warehouses rented out to various businesses. Demolition permits haven’t been filed.


373 East 157th Street

Six-Story, 12-Unit Residential Building Planned At 373 East 157th Street, Melrose

An anonymous Brooklyn-based LLC has filed applications for a six-story, 12-unit residential building at 373 East 157th Street, in the South Bronx’s Melrose section. The project will measure 10,083 square feet and its residential units should average 641 square feet apiece, indicative of rental apartments. Amenities include laundry facilities and bike storage. Luis Depasquale’s Cronton-on-Hudson,N.Y.-based firm LMD Architect is the architect of record. The 2,493-square-foot lot is currently occupied by a two-story brick building. Demolition permits haven’t been filed. Metro-North Railroad’s Melrose station is located five blocks north.
