17-Story, 275-Unit Building Rising At 550 Vanderbilt Avenue, Pacific Park

Nearly a year ago, YIMBY revealed renderings of the 17-story, 275-unit condominium building planned at 550 Vanderbilt Avenue, in Prospect Heights, and this past summer we posted interior images of the building’s lobby and common areas. Construction is now well underway, and the structure is currently five stories tall, per the latest from Tectonic. A partnership between Greenland Group and Forest City Ratner is developing the building, which is one of many in their Pacific Park development. COOKFOX is designing, and completion is expected in 2017.

Eight-Story Building Revealed At 260 Bowery, Nolita

Lyco Investment Corp. and Nexus Development are planning to build an eight-story, six-unit mixed-use building at 258-260 Bowery, in Nolita, according to Bowery Boogie. The project has not been submitted to the DOB, but permits are already on file to demolish the existing three-story building. A rendering includes some form of commercial space on the ground and second floors, and condos begin on the third floor, meaning full-floor units are likely. Morris Adjmi is designing, and the façade is required to be masonry.

First Look At 10-Story, 13-Unit Mixed-Use Project At 173 Chrystie Street, Lower East Side

Late last year, YIMBY reported on filings for a 10-story, 13-unit mixed-use building planned at 173-175 Chrystie Street, on the Lower East Side, and now a rendering has surfaced of the project, per Bowery Boogie. The new building will have 1,537 square feet of retail space on the ground floor, and the condos will average roughly 2,000 square feet apiece. Nexus Development is developing, ODA Architecture is designing, and completion is tentatively expected in 2018.

Bioelectronic Research Facility Proposed On Portion Of Nassau Coliseum Site, Uniondale

Back in April, Forest City Ranter proposed their Nassau Coliseum redevelopment plans to the Town of Hempstead, and a month later, their submission was approved, with the first phase expected to include stadium renovations and adjacent new retail space. Now, a team of business and government officials are proposing a 250,000 square-foot bioelectronic research facility on a portion of the 91-acre Uniondale site, according to Innovate Long Island. The $300 million complex would host 50 laboratories and engineering shops, and would be built atop an underground parking garage.

Four-Story, Five-Unit Residential Building Coming To 50-26 101st Street, Corona

Haibin Chen, doing business as an anonymous LLC, has filed applications for a four-story, five-unit residential building at 50-26 101st Street, in Corona, just around the block from the Rego Park-bound Q38 bus stop. The building will total 4,723 square feet, which means units will average 945 square feet apiece. Yuk Lam’s Fresh Meadows-based Lam Engineer is the applicant of record, and an existing two-story house will have to be demolished.
