Restoration & Three-Story Addition Planned For Weir Greenhouse At 750 Fifth Avenue, Greenwood

Green-Wood Cemetery is planning to restore the landmarked Weir Greenhouse building at 750 5th Avenue and wants to construct a connected three-story office building for the nonprofit’s uses. Page Ayres Cowley is designing the project, and the landmarked structure was originally designed by Mercein Thomas in the 1880’s, but altered in 1895 by George Curtis Gillespie, according to Brownstoner. The LPC’s approval is required, and an adjacent two-story structure must be demolished.

Extell’s 250 South Street Will Total 68 Floors & 1.1 Million Square Feet

In May, YIMBY revealed partial renderings of Extell’s planned residential tower at 250 South Street, and at the time, DOB filings indicated it was to stand 56 stories, spanning 939,850 square feet. Now, according to DNAinfo, permits show a tower closer to the initially proposed building, standing 68 stories and 800 feet tall, and measuring 1,105,386 square feet. The project now includes 802 residential units, and 25,516 square feet of retail space on the ground floor.

58-Story Residential Tower Rising At 42-12 28th Street, Long Island City

Back in 2014, YIMBY revealed renderings of Heatherwood Communities’ planned 58-story, 477-unit residential tower at 42-12 28th Street, in Long Island City, at the same time excavation was starting. Now, the project is up to its tenth floor, according to The Court Square Blog. Glass installation has also started, and completion of the tower, dubbed 28 On 28th, is expected in 2017. Goldstein Hill & West is the architect, and $154 million in financing was provided by PNC Bank in May.

Four-Story, Three-Unit Residential Building Coming To 424 Evergreen Avenue, Bushwick

Matt Schneider, operating under an anonymous LLC, has filed applications for a four-story, three-unit residential building at 424 Evergreen Avenue, in central Bushwick, three blocks from the Gates Av. stop on the J/Z subway. The building will measure 4,300 square feet, which works out to units averaging a condo-sized 1,430 square feet. Manish Savani is the architect of record, and the lot is currently vacant.

Groundbreaking Next Month For 17-Story, 397-Unit Building At 515 Marin Boulevard, Jersey City

Jonathan Kushner’s KRE Group has received a $40 million tax break for their planned 17-story, 397-unit mixed-use building planned at 515 Marin Boulevard, in Jersey City’s Hamilton Park neighborhood. Twenty percent of the tower’s units will be affordable, and commercial space will measure roughly 20,000 square feet on the ground floor. The site is currently a parking lot, and groundbreaking is expected next month for an August 2017 completion, according to The Jersey Journal.
