All-Affordable Housing Building Tops Out at 63 Stockholm Street in Bushwick, Brooklyn

Construction has topped out on 63 Stockholm Street, a four-story all-affordable residential building in Bushwick, Brooklyn. Designed by STAT Architecture and developed by RiseBoro Community Partnership and St. Nicks Alliance under the Bushwick Alliance LLC, the 20,111-square-foot structure will yield 20 rental units, a cellar level with bike storage, and a rooftop covered with a photovoltaic canopy. The $10 million project is located on a formerly vacant interior lot between Central and Evergreen Avenues.

Designed by Danois Architects and developed by Mastermind, the structure yields 153 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 129 units for residents at 30 to 70 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $18,480 to $134,820.

The affordable housing lottery has launched for 21-11 31st Avenue, a seven-story mixed-use building in Astoria, Queens. Designed by HPL Engineering, the structure yields 43 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 43 units for residents at 80 to 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $72,652 to $181,740.

Bridging Access To Care Celebrates Grand Opening Of New Service Site At Flatbush Gardens In East Flatbush, Brooklyn

Bridging Access to Care, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing social services to underserved populations in New York City, recently celebrated the grand opening of a new service site at Flatbush Gardens in East Flatbush, Brooklyn. The new location will offer on-site support to residents transitioning from shelters to permanent housing. Flatbush Gardens yields 2,500 apartments across 59 buildings, primarily catering to low-income residents. The property is owned by Clipper Equity.

Designed by Studio V Architecture and developed by BRP Companies, the structure yields 605 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 182 units for residents at 80 to 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $58,046 to $218,010.

8 Court Square Completes Construction in Long Island City, Queens

Construction is is complete on 8 Court Square, a 20-story residential building in Long Island City, Queens. Designed by Hill West Architects and developed by Rose Associates and Werwaiss Properties under the 25-34 Jackson Avenue Property Owner LLC, the 224-foot-tall structure yields 157 rental units in one- to two-bedroom layouts with an average scope of 684 square feet, as well as 10,170 square feet of retail space. Forty-eight of the apartments will be reserved for affordable housing. Cauldwell Wingate served as the general contractor for the property, which is alternately addressed as 27-10 44th Drive and is bound by 44th Drive to the northeast, Jackson Avenue to the northwest, and Thomson Avenue to the west and south.

Mayor Adams Celebrates Second Consecutive Year Of Record-Breaking Progress For Affordable Housing

Mayor Eric Adams announced that New York City has achieved consecutive record-breaking years for creating affordable housing and connecting New Yorkers to it. In the 2024 fiscal year, the city financed a combined 28,944 affordable and public housing units through new construction and preservation initiatives.

Designed by Aufgang Architects and developed by Slate Property Group in partnership with Avenue Realty Capital and SD Builders and Construction LLC, the 216-foot-tall building will span 116,000 square feet and yield 162 rental units with 49 designated as affordable housing. The property is located on an interior lot between Graham Avenue and Humboldt Street.
