Affordable Housing Lottery Launches for Fountain Seaview B3 Apartments in East New York, Brooklyn

The affordable housing lottery is now open for Fountain Seaview B3 Apartments, a nine-story mixed-use development at 881 Erskine Street in East New York, Brooklyn. Designed by Aufgang Architects and developed by Arker Companies, the 131,386-square-foot will yield a total 144 units in a mix of studios, one-, two-, and three-bedroom units. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 112 apartments for residents at 30 to 60 percent of the area median income, ranging in eligible income from $13,543 to $84,600. The building is one of eight in the redevelopment of the former state-run Brooklyn Developmental Center site, with a mix of residential, retail, and community space. Overall Fountain Seaview will have 1,169 residential units with 397 of those designated as affordable housing.

The Department of City Planning recently signed off on preliminary proposals to construct an eight-story mixed-use property in Rego Park, Queens. Phase One of the 100% Affordable Housing Development Sendero Verde Tops Out in Harlem

The first phase of Sendero Verde, a 100-percent affordable housing development, has topped out in East Harlem. L+M Development Partners, Jonathan Rose Companies, Acacia Network are developing the project which will bring 360 units of affordable housing and one superintendent’s unit spread in phase one across two buildings, the 15-story B-North and the ten-story B-South. It also includes space for a school with a full gymnasium, community facility space for Union Settlement Association, and an 18,000-square-foot public courtyard with a children’s play area, outdoor exercise equipment for adults, seating areas, and a stage for community events. Phase one of is designed by Handel Architects.

Westchester’s nonprofit developer Westhab recently topped off their latest project Dayspring Commons at 227 Elm Street in Yonkers. Located in the Nodine Hill neighborhood, the 65-unit residential building will offer affordable and supportive housing to the area. Last week a small gathering that included Yonkers mayor Mike Spano and Westhab president and CEO Rich Nightingale marked the completion of the Dayspring Commons edifice.
