Casa Celina, a new affordable housing development in the Soundview section of The Bronx, has officially topped out. The building is located at 1810 Watson Avenue and will comprise 205 mixed-income units for seniors and formerly homeless adults.
The affordable housing lottery has launched for 912 Broadway, an eight-story mixed-use building in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. Designed by Zproekt Architecture and developed by Broadway Stockton LLC, the structure yields 81 residences and 13,089 square feet of commercial space. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 25 units for residents at 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $85,680 to $187,330.
The stainless steel, aluminum, and glass façade is beginning to cover the crown of the Brooklyn Tower, a 93-story residential supertall at 9 DeKalb Avenue in Downtown Brooklyn. Designed by SHoP Architects and developed by JDS Development, the 1,066-foot-tall structure stands as the tallest building in the outer boroughs that will boast 150 condominium units, 280 market-rate rental units, 120 affordable rental units, and 100,000-square-foot retail podium that incorporates the landmarked Dime Savings Bank of Brooklyn. Homes for purchase are going to start over 500 feet above street level. Douglas Elliman is serving as the exclusive marketing, sales, and leasing agent for the property, which is bound by Flatbush Avenue Extension to the northeast, Fleet Street to the northwest, DeKalb Avenue to the south, and the adjoining Dime Savings Bank of Brooklyn to the west.
Below-grade work is ramping up at 258-278 Eighth Avenue, site of a 14-story mixed-use project in Chelsea, Manhattan. Designed by FXCollaborative and developed by Alchemy-ABR Investment Partners and Chelsea 23rd Realty Corporation, an LLC affiliated with JJ Operating, the 173-foot-tall structure will yield 132,700 square feet with 190 rental apartments and multiple levels of retail space on the lower floors. Leeding Builders Group is the general contractor and Square Mile Capital and Pacific Western Bank provided $183 million in construction financing for the Midtown, Manhattan project, which is located along Eighth Avenue between West 23rd and West 24th Streets.
Developers and state officials recently joined to celebrate the grand opening of Landy Court, an 80-unit residential property with a mix of affordable and supportive housing units in Yonkers. The seven-story building was developed in collaboration by St. Joseph’s Medical Center and Concern Housing, Inc., a non-profit housing agency.
