Cantilevering One South First Tops Out Over Domino Park, in Williamsburg

Construction has topped out on One South First, formally called 260 Kent Avenue, in the Williamsburg waterfront development of Domino Park. This is the second new structure to rise from the master plan that aims to revitalize the site of the Domino Sugar factory. The reinforced concrete building now stands 435 feet high and will soon yield 330 rentals, 66 affordable units, and 150,000 square feet of office space among 22 floors, as well as 13,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space. COOKFOX is the architect of the tower while Two Trees Management is the developer.

Landmarked Walker House Begins Leasing at 540 Broad Street in Newark, New Jersey

Leasing has launched for Walker House’s rental properties at 540 Broad Street in downtown Newark, New Jersey. Developed in collaboration by L+M Development Partners, Prudential Financial, and Goldman Sachs Urban Investment Group, the landmarked 1929 Art Deco building was renovated to create 211 apartments and a full suite of residential amenities. The 20-story structure’s conversion was overseen by Inglese Architecture & Engineering and CetraRuddy, and will include a fitness center and yoga studio, a library lounge, a private catering kitchen and dining room, a game room, storage areas, and a crowning rooftop terrace with outdoor cooking areas.

Brooklyn’s 475 Clermont Cleared for Occupancy, in Fort Greene

Developer RXR Realty and construction partner BCG recently celebrated their first temporary certificate of occupancy (TCO) at 475 Clermont, a 12-story development in Fort Greene, Brooklyn. The 363-unit, 400,000-square-foot structure contains a mix of residential homes and retail space. The TCO comes one month ahead of schedule and will allow occupancy to occur two months earlier than originally planned. Aufgang Architects is behind the design for the mixed-use rental building, which will contain 73 units for affordable housing and below-market rates.
