The affordable housing lottery has launched for RadRoc, a two-building mixed-use development at 10-18 Beach 20th Street and 19-38 Cornaga Avenue in Far Rockaway, Queens. Designed by Magnusson Architecture & Planning and developed by Radson Development, the structures each rise ten stories and yield a combined 253 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 227 units for residents at 40 to 80 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $20,538 to $118,400.

The affordable housing lottery has launched for 65 Buchanan Place, a seven-story mixed-use building in University Heights, The Bronx. Designed by Asher Hershkowitz Architect and developed by Craig Nassi of BCN Development, the structure yields 23 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are seven units for residents at 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $60,515 to $139,620.

The Fountains Affordable Housing Complex Completes Construction in East New York, Brooklyn

Construction is now complete on The Fountains, a six-building affordable housing complex in East New York, Brooklyn. Developed by Long Island-based Arker Companies, which purchased the site for $10 million following a competitive request for proposal process facilitated by the Empire State Development Corporation, the development yields 1,163 affordable homes, commercial space, and a new public plaza.

Designed by NDKazalas Architecture, the structure yields 13 residences. 1490 Southern Boulevard Completes Construction in Charlotte Gardens, The Bronx

Type A Real Estate Advisors and JASA recently completed a new affordable housing development at 1490 Southern Boulevard in The Bronx. The 100-percent affordable project is located in the borough’s Charlotte Gardens neighborhood and comprises 114 units for households making up to 50 percent area median income (AMI). Thirty percent of the units will be set aside formerly homeless older adults.

Designed by Asher Hershkowitz Architect and developed by Sam Klein under the Ocean Parkway Apartments LLC, the structure yields 35 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 11 units for residents at 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $72,000 to $167,570.

227 West Street’s Façade Reaches Both Pinnacles in Greenpoint, Brooklyn

Façade installation is getting closer to completion on 227 West Street, a two-tower residential development in the 22-acre Greenpoint Landing development along the East River in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Designed by OMA and Beyer Blinder Belle and developed by Brookfield Property Partners and Park Tower Group, the 30- and 40-story towers will yield 745 rental units, with 30 percent planned as “income-targeted” apartments, marketed in accordance with the Affordable Housing New York program. James Corner Field Operations is the landscape architect, DeSimone Consulting Engineers is the structural engineer, Thornton Tomasetti is the façade consultant, and Highbury Concrete is responsible for building the 450- and 351-foot tall reinforced concrete superstructures, located off the corner of Eagle and West Streets.

Designed by NY Building Associates Inc. and developed by The Horizon Group, the structure yields 70 residences. 55 Suffolk Street’s Superstructure Rises Above Street Level on Manhattan’s Lower East Side

Construction is rising on 55 Suffolk Street, a 30-story mixed-use building on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. Designed by Dattner Architects and developed by Gotham Organization, the 310-foot-tall structure is part of the two-building Broome Street Development complex along with the 16-story 64 Norfolk Street. The complex will span 387,223 square feet and yield 488 rental units, of which 43 percent will be dedicated to permanently affordable housing. Monadnock Construction, Inc. is the general contractor for both developments, which are being built near the intersection of Broome and Norfolk Streets.
