The Upper West Side doesn’t often see major new residential developments, especially of the affordable variety, which is why HPD’s plans for 145 West 108th Street, on behalf of the West Side Federation for Senior and Supportive Housing, are somewhat surprising. Dattner Architects will be designing, and today, YIMBY has the first images of what the two-building project will look like.
The Bronx boom continues apace, and today, YIMBY has the reveal for building two of the Concourse Village West affordable housing project, designed by Aufgang Architects, which will rise at 702 Grand Concourse, in Concourse Village.
Yesterday, the New York City Planning Commission unanimously approved a new affordable housing development for 3 Livonia Avenue, in Brownsville. This will be the fifth project in Brooklyn by the non-profit partnership of Breaking Ground and The African American Planning Commission Inc. The development, named Edwin’s Place, will create 125 rental units for homeless and low-income families, and comes as part of the Mayor’s housing initiative to build 80,000 new, affordable units over a span of ten years.
Back in July of 2014, YIMBY reported on new building applications for 4261 Park Avenue, in The Bronx’s Tremont neighborhood. Now, the COOKFOX-designed project, dubbed Park House, is ready to open with an official address of 4275 Park Avenue.
Multi-block redevelopments are becoming commonplace in the formerly industrial areas that border the burgeoning residential blocks of northwest Brooklyn, and now another major site has been added to the list. Yesterday, City Planning approved the Pfizer redevelopment in South Williamsburg, which will see the derelict 4.2-acre site completely revitalized.
