111 Varick Street’s Signature Geometric Façade is Rising Above Hudson Square

Work has begun on the curtain wall of 111 Varick Street, a topped-out 27-story residential building in Hudson Square. Designed by S9 Architecture and developed by Madigan Development, project is located at the northern corner of Varick Street and Broome Street, near the entrance to the Holland Tunnel. CM & Associates is in charge of the construction process, which has shifted to the installation of the building’s signature slate-colored geometric paneling.

Mega Realty Holding and the Pancyprian Association are working in partnership to develop a new mixed-use property at 22-60 46th Street in the Ditmars-Steinway section of Astoria, Queens. Pending approvals from the city’s Department of Buildings, the development would yield 173,000 square feet of affordable and market-rate rentals, retail, and a small performance venue for the Cyprian and Hellenic communities.

Proposal for Improvements to Harlem’s Lenox Terrace Begins Public Review

A proposal to significantly improve Harlem‘s massive Lenox Terrace housing complex has begun public review as part of the Uniform Land Use Review Procedure process. Plans call for the addition of mixed-income housing, six acres of green space, and retail to the site located between Lenox Avenue and Fifth Avenue, and from 132nd to 135th Streets. Lenox Terrace comprises over six square blocks and houses more than 4,000 people across six buildings.

533 Mercer Street, aka 289 Jordan, Begins Ascent Over Jersey City

Construction at 533 Mercer Street, aka 289 Jordan, has risen above street level in the McGinley Square neighborhood of Jersey City. Located at the intersection of Mercer Street and Jordan Street, the 16-story mixed-use residential property will contain a total of 300 apartments. These will include 56 affordable housing units, 138 studios, 90 one-bedroom homes, 33 two-bedrooms, and six three-bedroom homes. The project is being designed by Marchetto Higgins Stieve Architects and developed by Mercer Jordan LLC, an affiliate of New York-based company Sequoia Development Group, GRID Real Estate and Dresdner Robin.
