The affordable housing lottery has launched for 64 Norfolk Senior Housing, a 16-story mixed-use building in a two-tower development at 60 Norfolk Street on the Lower East Side, Manhattan. Designed by Dattner Architects and developed by Gotham Organization, the combined structures yield 488 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 86 units for residents at 40 to 70 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $25,372 to $84,070.

The affordable housing lottery has launched for 2321 Belmont Avenue, a seven-story mixed-use building in Belmont, The Bronx. Designed by Sion Consulting Engineering, the structure yields 42 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 13 units for residents at 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $72,000 to $167,570.

City Agency Approves Five Mixed-Use Residential Developments in Yonkers, New York

The Yonkers Industrial Development Agency (IDA) has approved five new residential and commercial developments across the waterfront city. The developments are projected to create more than 600 construction jobs and over 300 apartments, including affordable housing for low-income seniors.

Designed by Infocus and developed by 103 Grove Street LLC, the structures each yield eight residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are nine units for residents at 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $75,429 to $156,130.

New York City Approves Contract for $7 Billion Penn Station Redesign in Midtown, Manhattan

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority, in partnership with NJ Transit and Amtrak, approved a contract for the redesign of Penn Station, a project that could cost the city $7 billion. The joint venture project team includes architect of record FXCollaborative, global engineering firm WSP, and British design studio John McAslan and Partners which will serve as a design consultant.

Sendero Verde’s 34-Story Second Phase Progresses at 50 East 112th Street in East Harlem, Manhattan

Construction has passed the halfway point on 50 East 112th Street, the tallest tower in the Sendero Verde mixed-use complex in East Harlem, Manhattan. Designed by Handel Architects and developed by Jonathan Rose Companies, L+M Development Partners, and Acacia Network, the 34-story tower represents the second phase of construction and will yield 361 permanently affordable rental units for low- to moderate-income families and the formerly homeless. The edifice is rising directly to the west of the completed first phase, which encompasses a 15-story tower at 60 East 112th Street and a ten-story structure at 75 East 111th Street. The latest tower will span 395,000 square feet, making it the largest affordable Passive House development in the world. L&M Builders Group is the general contractor for the property, which is located at the corner of East 112th Street and Madison Avenue.

Construction is complete on The Kira, a 139-unit affordable and supportive housing project at 153-19 Jamaica Avenue in Jamaica, Queens. Designed by GF55 Partners and developed by New Destiny Housing, BFC Partners, and SMJ Development, the 21-story mixed-use building houses a mix of rental apartments, a 5,000-square-foot retail space on the ground floor, and on-site supportive services.

Designed by Dattner Architects and developed by The Durst Organization, the structure is a 100 percent affordable New York City Housing Authority development. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 145 units for residents at 40 to 60 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $25,372 to $86,460.

New Renderings Unveiled of 595 Dean Street in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn

Developer TF Cornerstone has released new exterior renderings of 595 Dean Street, a two-building mixed-use development in the Pacific Park masterplan in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn. Designed by Handel Architects, the 23-story West Tower and 28-story East Tower will comprise a total of 798 units with 240 homes slated for affordable housing. Additional components include 3,412 square feet of ground-floor retail space, 72,600 square feet of public open space designed by Matthews Nielsen Landscape Architects, a 469-vehicle parking garage, and a 103,028-square-foot Chelsea Piers Fitness Center and Field House.
