35-01 Beach Channel Drive Nears Completion in Far Rockaway, Queens

Work is nearing completion on 35-01 Beach Channel Drive, an eight-story residential building in Far Rockaway, Queens. Designed by Bernheimer Architecture and developed by the NYC Department of Housing Preservation and Development, the 83-foot-tall structure will span 137,342 square feet and yield 138 rental units with an average scope of 707 square feet, as well as 5,173 square feet of commercial space, a 52-foot-long rear yard, and 15 enclosed parking spaces. Twenty percent of the units will be designated as affordable housing. The property is bound by Beach Channel Drive, Beach 36th Street, Rockaway Freeway, and Beach 35th Street.

Housing Lottery Launches for The Vordonia Towers at 34-46 Vernon Boulevard in Astoria, Queens

Designed by Panagis Georgopolous and developed by Davidson Equities, the structure yields 404 residences. 65-25 Queens Boulevard Tops Out in Woodside, Queens

Construction has topped out on 65-25 Queens Boulevard, a nine-story affordable housing building in Woodside, Queens. Designed by Angelo Ng + Anthony Ng Architects Studio for 6525 Queens Blvd LLC, which purchased the property for $2.73 million in October 2020, the 95-foot-tall structure will span 23,861 square feet and yield 29 rental units with an average scope of 823 square feet. The project is alternately addressed as 42-78 65th Place and is located on a 3,210-square-foot parcel at the intersection of Queens Boulevard and 65th Place.

New Renderings Revealed For 930 McCarter Highway in Newark, New Jersey

New renderings have recently been revealed for 930 McCarter Highway, a 25-story residential building under construction in Newark, New Jersey. Designed by MHS Architects and developed by Boraie Development, the 289-foot-tall structure will span 432,650 square feet and yield 265 market-rate rental units, 68 affordable units, 3,750 square feet of commercial and retail space, and a four-story parking garage capable of holding 240 vehicles. The development is rising on a 1.1-acre waterfront plot bound by the Passaic River to the east and the intersection of McCarter Highway and Center Street to the west.

Façade Work Nears Completion on Edgemere Commons Building B1 in Far Rockaway, Queens

Exterior work is nearing completion on Edgemere Commons’ second all-affordable housing building at 5119 Beach Channel Drive in Far Rockaway, Queens. Designed by Aufgang Architects and developed by Tishman Speyer’s TS Communities, the company’s affordable housing development platform, the 247,000-square-foot structure will yield 237 rental apartments in studio to three-bedroom layouts, with 36 reserved for the formerly homeless, as well as 8,000 square feet of retail space and 7,500 square feet of community facility space. The property, also known as Edgemere Commons Building B1, is located between Beach 50th and Beach 53rd Streets, across from its sister development, Building A1.

14+C Nears Topping Out at 644 East 14th Street in Manhattan’s East Village

Construction is close to topping out on 14+C, a 24-story residential building rising at 644 East 14th Street in the Alphabet City section of Manhattan’s East Village. Designed by Fischer + Makooi Architects and developed by Madison Realty Capital, the 200,000-square-foot structure will yield 196 rental units in studio to two-bedroom layouts, with an undisclosed portion reserved for affordable housing, as well as ground-floor retail space. The property is located at the corner of East 14th Street and Avenue C.
