18 Sixth Avenue Surpasses Barclays Center’s Roof in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn

18 Sixth Avenue is approaching the halfway mark on the way up to its 49-story parapet in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn. Designed by Perkins Eastman and developed in a joint venture between The Brodsky Organization and Greenland Forest City Partners, the nearly 500-foot-tall structure will contain 858 rental units, of which 258 will be dedicated to affordable housing. The development will yield 740,000 square feet and stand as the tallest building in the massive 22-acre Pacific Park master plan.

LIU’s Expansion at 61 DeKalb Avenue Nears Topping Out in Downtown Brooklyn

Construction is getting close to topping out at One University Plaza, a 34-story mixed-use structure at 61 DeKalb Avenue in Downtown Brooklyn. Designed by Perkins Eastman and developed by RXR Realty, the 435-foot-tall building is part of Long Island University‘s expansion and will add 370,960 square feet of new space to the campus.

Mill Creek Residential Trust has revealed renderings of a new residential building, The Modera at 24 Maple Avenue in New Rochelle. Designed by CUBE 3 Architecture, the project arrives as part of the city’s effort to reinvigorate the downtown metro area, and will comprise a mix of market-rate and permanently affordable housing units.

The Doe Fund and Bolivar Development have officially kicked off construction at Tiffany Court Plaza in the Foxhurst section of The Bronx. Located at 980 Westchester Avenue, the mixed-use building will eventually top out at seven stories and will comprise approximately 155,000 square feet.

Proposed $2 Billion Mixed-Use Complex Revealed in Astoria, Queens

A consortium of developers including Kaufman Astoria Studios, Silverstein Properties, and BedRock Real Estate Partners has revealed extensive plans to redevelop and construct a five-block mixed-use complex in Astoria, Queens. Designed by ODA’s New York design studio, the development is known as Innovation QNS and is expected to yield up to 2,700 apartments and more than 400,000 square feet of commercial area.

Camber Property Group Announces Housing Lottery at 11 West 118th Street in Central Harlem

Proposal for 24-Story Tower at 130 St. Felix Street Heads to LPC in Fort Greene, Brooklyn

Late last year, Gotham Organization announced plans to construct a 24-story residential building and a partial expansion of the century-old Brooklyn Music School at 130 Saint Felix Street in Fort Greene, Brooklyn. With the help of architects FXCollaborative, the developers are now ready to present proposals to the Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC).

Activity Underway on FXCollaborative’s Covenant House at 460 West 41st Street in Midtown West

Construction activity is underway at 460 West 41st Street, a 164-foot-tall mixed-use building in Midtown West. Designed by FXCollaborative and developed by Covenant House, the 80,290-square-foot edifice will contain 53,053 square feet dedicated to community facility space and 60 units averaging approximately 884 square feet. This is the first supportive housing development by Covenant House in 48 years and includes help from for-profit entities Gotham Organization and Denham Wolf Real Estate Services.

Bronx Point Complex Achieves WEDG Certification for Sustainable Waterfront Design

A 1,045-unit housing complex known as Bronx Point is now recognized as the first and only affordable housing project to achieve WEDG certification. The rating system was founded by the Waterfront Alliance, an independent offshoot of The Municipal Art Society of New York, that establishes guidelines for ecologically friendly waterfront design and construction.
