New Renderings Released for Dual-Skyscraper Development at 495 Eleventh Avenue in Midtown, Manhattan

New renderings have been revealed for 495 Eleventh Avenue, a pair of residential skyscrapers in Midtown, Manhattan. Located between West 39th and 40th Streets directly next to the Jakob K. Javits Center expansion, the two towers will stand 680 feet tall and 57 stories, and 653 feet tall and 56 stories. The site currently functions as a parking lot for the New York Police Department. FXCollaborative and Gwathmey Siegal Kaufman Architects are the designers responsible for the work.

The affordable housing lottery has launched for 145 West 108th Street, an 11-story community facility building on the Upper West Side, Manhattan. The 191,963-square-foot development was designed by Dattner Architects and developed by the West Side Federation for Senior and Supportive Housing, and yields 198 affordable housing units. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 79 units for residents at 30 to 60 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $18,480 to $88,800.

Housing Lottery Launches for 495 St. Johns Place in Crown Heights, Brooklyn

The affordable housing lottery has launched for 495 St. Johns Place, a seven-story residential building in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. The 23,059-square-foot development was developed by Candor Capital and yields 26 units. Available on NYC Housing Connect are four units for residents at 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $59,795 to $167,570.

The 51,610-square-foot development was designed by Eyal Levitt Architect and yields 15 units. Available on NYC Housing Connect are three units for residents at 60 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $27,600 to $64,440.

The 51,610-square-foot development was designed by Marin Architects and developed by Stagg Group, and yields 64 units. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 28 units for residents at 120 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $56,572 to $154,680.

A recent acquisition of an affordable senior community at 1313 Baltic Avenue in Atlantic City, New Jersey will preserve its affordability for 30 years. Standard Communities, the affordable housing division of Standard Companies, acquired Baltic Plaza Apartments for approximately $38 million.

Historic YMCA in Tarrytown to be Redeveloped into Affordable Housing

Affordable housing developer Wilder Balter recently purchased a historic YMCA building in Tarrytown. The 41,537-square-foot, four-story structure at 62 Main Street was originally constructed in 1928 and has had numerous additions since then. RM Friedland, which brokered the deal, announced the $6.45 million sale and the developer’s intention to preserve the masonry façade, while turning it into 109 affordable housing units and 100 parking spaces for local merchants.
