World renowned architecture firm Robert A.M. Stern Architects is working on yet another project on the Upper West Side, and this time it’s the restoration and interior design for 225 West 86th Street, aka The Belnord. The building is just off of the 1 subway line between 86th Street and 87th Streets, and Broadway and Amsterdam Avenue.

A proposed “boutique” office tower at 106 West 56th Street has begun excavation, where private equity firm Savanna Fund, along with Hong Kong based developer Atom Assets, plan to construct a 26-story tower. The site is located between 6th and 7th Avenues, just south of Billionaire’s Row.
Just up the street from the Ace Hotel at 266 Schermerhorn, in the Brooklyn neighborhood of Boerum Hill, the Morris Adjmi-designed 211 Schermerhorn Street is now halfway up to its future height of 14 floors. The project is being developed by Oestreicher Properties and GPB Capital Holdings, LLC, who purchased the site for $30 million last year, and it will contain 48 units ranging from one- to three-bedrooms.
On the Upper East Side of Manhattan, at the intersection of 86th St and Lexington Avenue, construction on the 21-story residential tower at 151 East 86th Street is making major headway. Designed by HOK Architects and developed by Kuafu Properties, Stillman Development, and Ceruzzi Properties, the project will offer 61 condominiums ranging from two- to five-bedrooms.
Earlier today, Gamma Real Estate secured approval from the Board of Standards and Appeals to continue with construction of the Foster + Partners designed residential tower that will rise over 800 feet above its surrounding context, at 3 Sutton Place. Located just south of the Ed Koch Queensboro Bridge on East 58th Street between Sutton Place South and 1st Avenue, and only a stone’s throw away from the East River, the project has continued to stir controversy and disapproval from local NIMBYs, who have been attacking the plans since renderings were revealed back in December 2015.
