Demolition is getting underway at 85 4th Avenue, the site of a 12-story mixed-use building in Park Slope, Brooklyn. James Shannon of Strekte Corp. is listed as the architect of record and Harry Einhorn under the 85 4th Avenue LLC is listed as the owner in permit applications filed in October 2019 for the 125-foot-tall structure, which will span 176,757 square feet and yield 193 residential units with an average scope of 647 square feet, as well as 5,415 square feet of commercial space, 1,996 square feet of community facility space, a cellar level, and 79 enclosed parking spaces. The property stretches from St. Mark’s Place to the north and Warren Street to the south.

10-04 Borden Avenue Wraps Up Construction in Long Island City, Queens

Construction is finishing up on 10-04 Borden Avenue, a three-story commercial building in Long Island City, Queens. Developed and built by The Vorea Group under the Borden Ave Opportunity Zone Business LLC, the 56,000-square-foot structure will feature New York City’s first iFLY indoor skydiving facility and a separate commercial space. The plot spans nearly half an acre by the three-way intersection of Borden Avenue, Vernon Boulevard, and Jackson Avenue.

Exterior Work Continues On Hotel Meta At 450 11th Avenue in Hudson Yards, Manhattan

Exterior work is continuing on 450 Eleventh Avenue, a 51-story hotel structure in Hudson Yards. Designed by DSM Design Group and developed by Marx Development Group, the 642-foot-tall skyscraper will yield 379 guest rooms and amenities including a business center, a ballroom, banquet and conference spaces, a spa, a fitness center, and a multi-level restaurant with a bar and outdoor terrace. The property is located at the corner of West 37th Street and Eleventh Avenue, directly across from the Jacob K. Javits Center.

The Bold Nears Completion At 27-01 Jackson Avenue in Long Island City, Queens

Construction is finishing up on 27-01 Jackson Avenue, a 27-story residential tower in the Court Square district of Long Island City, Queens. Designed by SLCE Architects and developed by American Lions, a joint venture between Fetner Properties and Lions Group, the 151,141-square-foot structure will yield 164 rental units with one-third reserved for affordable housing, as well as ground-floor retail space and approximately 90 parking spaces on the first three levels. The property is located at the corner of Jackson and 43rd Avenues, directly across from The Italic, its taller sibling at 26-32 Jackson Avenue.

Jasper Stands Topped Out At 2-33 50th Avenue in Long Island City, Queens

Construction has topped out on Jasper, a 13-story residential building at 2-33 50th Avenue in the Hunters Point district of Long Island City, Queens. Designed by S9 Architecture and developed by The Domain Companies, LMXD, Bridge Investment Group, and The Vorea Group, the 125-foot-tall structure will span 550,000 square feet and yield 499 units in studio to three-bedroom layouts with 150 reserved for affordable housing, as well as 40,000 square feet of retail space, 503 square feet for a community facility under the Brownfield Award, 111 enclosed parking spaces, and a 30-foot-long rear yard. The $370 million project is alternately addressed as 49-20 5th Street and is bound by 49th Avenue to the north, 50th Avenue to the south, and 5th Street to the east.

499 President Street’s Façade Progresses in Gowanus, Brooklyn

Façade installation is continuing on 499 President Street, an eight-story residential building in Gowanus, Brooklyn. Designed by SLCE Architects and developed by The Brodsky Organization and Avery Hall Investments, the 85-foot-tall structure will span 322,000 square feet and yield 350 rental units in studio to two-bedrooms layouts, with 25 percent designated for affordable housing, as well as 20,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space. The 1.6-acre property is bound by Union Street to the north, President Street to the south, and Nevins Street to the west.

1162 Broadway Completes Construction in NoMad, Manhattan

Construction is complete on 1162 Broadway, a 14-story commercial building in the Madison Square North Historic District of NoMad, Manhattan. Designed by Morris Adjmi Architects and developed by Okada & Co. under the 1162 Broadway LLC, the 185-foot-tall structure yields 30,000 square feet of Class A office space and 1,800 square feet for a restaurant on the ground floor and cellar level. The property is located between West 27th and 28th Streets on a narrow interior lot.

Exterior Progress Continues on 420 Carroll Street in Gowanus, Brooklyn

Façade installation is making progress on 420 Carroll Street, a two-tower residential complex in Gowanus, Brooklyn. Designed by FXCollaborative and developed by Domain Companies, the project consists of a 20-story, 224-foot-tall tower and a shorter 15-story sibling and will yield 360 units with 25 percent reserved for affordable housing, as well as 27,500 square feet of retail space, 7,700 square feet of “Gowanus Mix” space pursuant to the 82-block district rezoning, and a new public promenade along the Gowanus Canal. The property is located on a trapezoidal plot bound by Carroll Street to the north, the Powerhouse Arts building and its parking lot to the south, and the Gowanus Canal to the west.

50 West 66th Street Tops Out on Manhattan’s Upper West Side

Construction has topped out on 50 West 66th Street, a 69-story residential skyscraper on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. Designed by Snøhetta with SLCE Architects as the executive architect and developed by Extell and Tennor Holding, the 775-foot-tall structure will yield 127 condominium units starting at $4.6 million and officially holds the title as the tallest building in the neighborhood. Lendlease is the general contractor for the project, which is located on an interior lot between Columbus Avenue and Central Park West with frontage on both West 65th and West 66th Streets.

The Bay Nears Completion at 2971 Shell Road in Coney Island, Brooklyn

Construction is wrapping up on The Bay, an eight-story residential building at 2971 Shell Road in Coney Island, Brooklyn. Designed by Zproekt Architecture and developed by Rybak Development and Fouerti Realty, the 80-foot-tall structure will span 187,600 square feet and yield 189 rental apartments in one- to three-bedroom layouts with an average scope of 992 square feet and interiors by Molly Elizabeth Interior Design, as well as a 100-foot-long side yard, indoor and outdoor amenities, and 109 enclosed parking spaces on the ground floor. The property is bound by Neptune Avenue to the south, Shell Road to the west, and West 6th Street to the east.
