Hudson Garden’s Façade Installation Makes Headway at 615 Tenth Avenue, in Hell’s Kitchen

The curtain wall assembly is progressing swiftly at 615 Tenth Avenue, AKA Hudson Garden, a new residential development in Hell’s Kitchen. The last of the large prefabricated panels are being hoisted into place on the topped-out, seven-story superstructure, which spans a full block between West 44th Street and West 45th Street. The 92-unit property is being designed by Marvel Architects and developed by Xin Development International, with Kuafu Properties as the project manager and Leeding Builders Group overseeing construction.

Margaritaville Resort Quickly Sprouts Above Street Level, in Times Square

The upcoming 29-story Margaritaville Resort at 560 Seventh Avenue is rising above Times Square and has already reached its main setback. YIMBY last checked in on the project back in early May, when it had just begun to ascend above street level. Sharif El-Gamal of Soho Properties is developing the site along with MHP Real Estate Services, and Stonehill & Taylor Architects is the designer. There will be a three-story restaurant, an outdoor swimming pool with plentiful seating and beach-themed motifs, and a rooftop bar called the LandShark Bar & Grill. The projected price for the resort hotel is expected to be around $300 million.

FAA Permits Submitted for 841-Foot-Tall Tower at 30 Journal Square, in Jersey City

Permits have been submitted to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for work on 30 Journal Square, a proposed 841-foot-tall mixed-use skyscraper in Jersey City. Located at the southern corner of Slip Avenue and Bergen Avenue, the project is being designed by Morris Adjmi Architects and developed by Kushner Companies, which acquired the site for $3.575 million in 2013. The permits filed are for work between December 2019 and December 2022, so activity at the site could begin by the end of the year.

Beckford House, located at 301 East 81st Street, and Beckford Tower at 301 East 80th Street, are two new developments in the Upper East Side neighborhood of Yorkville. Designed by Studio Sofield and SLCE Architects and developed by Icon Realty Management, both structures are topped out and their exterior brick and stone curtain walls are rising.

Queens Plaza Park Rising Toward 755-Foot Parapet, at 27-29 Queens Plaza North in Long Island City

Construction on Queens Plaza Park, aka 27-29 Queens Plaza North, is progressing above the streets in the dense downtown neighborhood of Long Island City. The concave, curvilinear southern elevation of the 67-story tower is becoming more visible as the massive reinforced concrete structure rises. The project, which is also addressed 29-37 41st Avenue, will eventually top off at 755 feet tall and become the second tallest skyscraper in the outer boroughs. The 978,000-square-foot project is being designed by Handel Architects, while The Durst Organization is the site’s developer. Selldorf Architects will be designing the interiors.
