45 Park Place Stands Unfinished in Tribeca, Manhattan

Second on YIMBY’s Turkey Week tour of stalled projects is 45 Park Place, a 43-story residential skyscraper in Tribeca. Designed by SOMA Architects with Ismael Leyva Architects as the executive and residential architect and developed by Sharif el-Gamal of Soho Properties, the 667-foot-tall tower has been stalled since sometime in late 2019. Piero Lissoni is the interior designer, Permasteelisa Group and Vidaris are the façade consultants, and Gilbane Residential Construction is the general contractor for the property, which is located between Church Street and West Broadway.

79 Eldridge Street Awaits Further Progress on Manhattan’s Lower East Side

Construction appears stalled on 79 Eldridge Street, a 14-story hotel building on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. Designed by Ellipses Design and developed by DLC Development, Inc., the structure is planned to yield 48 rooms and a 1,243-square-foot common space. Triborough Construction Services is the general contractor for the property, which is located between Grand and Hester Streets.

Seaport Residences Remains Stalled at 161 Maiden Lane in Financial District, Manhattan

Kicking off our annual Turkey Week rundown of notable stalled projects is Seaport Residences, a 60-story residential skyscraper at 161 Maiden Lane along the border of Lower Manhattan’s Financial District and the South Street Seaport District. Designed by Hill West Architects and developed by Fortis Property Group, the 670-foot-tall tower has been on hold since sometime in late 2020, and its future remains uncertain. The 200,000-square-foot structure is planned to yield 80 units with interiors by Groves & Co. Ray Builders was the latest contractor for the property, which is located on a narrow rectangular site bound by South Street and Maiden Lane.

Construction is complete on The Anable, an eight-story residential building at 10-64 Jackson Avenue in Long Island City, Queens. Designed by Zproekt and developed by BK Developers, the structure yields 22 homes in one- to three-bedroom layouts including duplexes spanning over 1,400 square feet, as well as ground-floor retail space. Modern Spaces in charge of leasing and marketing for the property, which is bound by Jackson Avenue to the north and 50th Avenue to the south.

Construction is wrapping up on Post House, an 11-story residential building at 533 Pacific Street in Boerum Hill, Brooklyn. Designed by Issac & Stern Architects and developed by Sterling Town Equities, the 90,000-square-foot structure yields 41 condominium units and two four-story townhouses with interior design by Workshop/APD. Pro-H Development was the general contractor for the property, which is alternately addressed as 542 Atlantic Avenue and occupies a through-block parcel bound by Atlantic Avenue to the north, Pacific Street to the south, Fourth Avenue to the east, and Third Avenue to the west.
