99 Hudson Street’s Glass and Limestone Façade Substantially Complete in Jersey City

Exterior work is getting very close to completion at 99 Hudson Street in Jersey City, the 15th tallest skyscraper in our annual countdown. The gaps where the exterior hoist was attached have now been completely enclosed, and the only sections remaining are at street level around the soaring main lobby and the podium. Designed by Perkins Eastman, developed by COA 99 Hudson, LLC, and built by Plaza Construction with Vidaris overseeing the exterior envelope, the 79-story, 900-foot-tall residential tower stands as the tallest building in New Jersey.

Work Wraps for 3 East 3rd Street in the East Village

Construction on 3 East 3rd Street in the East Village is substantially complete, with occupancy expected in the next few weeks. The six-story building is located just off of the intersection of East 3rd Street and Bowery, on the border of the East Village and The Bowery. YIMBY last reported that the property is designed and developed by Barrett Design.

425 Park Avenue’s Fins And Upper Floors Await Cladding in Midtown East

Work is getting closer to completion at 425 Park Avenue, the 16th tallest building under construction in New York City in YIMBY’s annual countdown. The majority of the exterior work is finished on the 47-story, 897-foot-tall Midtown East skyscraper, with the final upper floors and crowning fins awaiting cladding. The commercial building is designed by Norman Foster, head of Foster + Partners, and is being developed by L&L Holding Company LLC. Adamson Associates is the architect of record.

Demolition Completed for Future 30-Story Hotel at 110-112 Liberty Street in Financial District

Demolition has finished at 110-112 Liberty Street in the Financial District, the site of a 30-story hotel designed by Stonehill & Taylor Architects. The property, which is being developed by Eddie Hidary of 112 Liberty Associates LLC, sits across from the base of Four World Trade Center, aka 150 Greenwich Street, and to the west of Zuccotti Park and Church Street.

Demolition Nears Completion at 80 Flatbush Avenue in Boerum Hill, Brooklyn

Demolition is almost complete at 80 Flatbush Avenue in Boerum Hill, Brooklyn, the site of an 840-foot-tall skyscraper, the 17th tallest project underway in New York City. A large amount of debris and rubble is scattered across the narrow, triangular property and awaiting removal. The steel frame of a previous structure is still standing but will soon be knocked down to make way for the new multi-structure, mixed-use complex developed by Alloy Development.

Foundations at 50 Trinity Place Partially Reach Street Level in Financial District

Foundation work has partially reached street level at 50 Trinity Place in the Financial District, the site of a new Aloft Hotel. The first half of the ground-floor slab has been formed, while the eastern half has yet to catch up. Bundles of steel rebar for the columns can also be spotted standing vertically on the property. Located diagonally across from Trinity Church at the corner of Trinity Place and Rector Street, the project is designed by Peter Poon Architects and is being developed by FIT Investment Corporation, which purchased the Lower Manhattan site for $15 million in 2012.

Handel Architects’ Madison House on Pace for 2020 Completion in NoMad

Work is nearing completion on Madison House, aka 126 Madison Avenue, number 18 on YIMBY’s countdown of the tallest projects under construction in New York City. Designed by Handel Architects, the 805-foot-tall, 62-story residential skyscraper topped out over NoMad with its façade almost entirely completed. Fosun Group and JD Carlisle are developing the nearly 300,000-square-foot project, while Douglas Elliman is handling sales and marketing of its 199 condominiums.

David Adjaye’s 130 William Street Finishes Curtain Wall Installation in Financial District

The final charcoal-colored curtain wall panels were recently hoisted into place on 130 William Street, the 19th tallest skyscraper under construction in our annual countdown. Designed by David Adjaye of Adjaye Associates, the 800-foot-tall residential building made rapid progress throughout 2019, capped now by the completion of its signature façade of concrete-cast arches. The 66-story Financial District project is being developed by Lightstone, with Hill West Architects as the architect of record. Corcoran Sunshine Marketing Group is handling sales and marketing for the 242 residential units, which will range in price from around $1,300,000 for a one-bedroom to $20,000,000 for a four-bedroom, full-floor penthouse.

430 East 58th Street’s Façade Begins Installation in Midtown East

The first curtain wall sections have begun installation at 430 East 58th Street, aka 3 Sutton Place, the 20th building on our countdown of the tallest projects in the city. The 800-foot-tall Midtown East residential skyscraper is designed by Thomas Juul-Hansen and developed by Gamma Real Estate, with Stephen B. Jacobs Group as the executive architect.

Skyline Tower’s Crown Begins Formation in Long Island City

Work has begun on the crown of Skyline Tower, aka 23-15 44th Drive, the 21st tallest building under construction in YIMBY’s annual December countdown. The reinforced concrete superstructure topped out over Long Island City at 778 feet tall, making it the current tallest skyscraper in Queens and the outer boroughs. The project is designed by Hill West Architects and developed by United Construction & Development Group, FSA Capital, and Risland US Holdings LLC. Modern Spaces is the exclusive marketing and sales agency for the 802 residences, which are designed by Whitehall Interiors.
