The XI’s Exterior Continues to Take Shape in Chelsea

YIMBY recently took photographs of the ongoing installation at The XI of the warm-colored travertine façade. The project consists of a twisting pair of 36- and 26-story residential structures located at 76 Eleventh Avenue in Chelsea. Designed by Danish architect Bjarke Ingels of Bjarke Ingels Group and developed by HFZ Capital Group, the massive 908,250-square-foot complex stands along the Hudson River waterfront and sits on the western side of the High Line. The mixed-use property will yield 236 condominiums and a 137-room Six Senses Hotel Resort Spa, which will be the first location in the United States. Omnibuild is in charge of the construction and Douglas Elliman is handling sales and marketing.

Installation of the signature bay windows is nearing completion on Thomas Heatherwick‘s Lantern House at 515 West 18th Street in Chelsea. Developed by Related Companies with SLCE Architects as the architect of record, the ten- and 21-story reinforced concrete edifices straddle the High Line and yield 181 residential units. Sales and marketing are led by Related Sales LLC and Corcoran Sunshine Marketing Group.

128 West 23rd Street’s Curtain Wall Taking Shape in Chelsea

Curtain wall installation is moving along at 128 West 23rd Street, a 15-story residential building in Chelsea. Designed by Kutnicki Bernstein Architects and developed by Valyrian Capital and Pan Brothers, the reinforced concrete edifice is located on the southern side of the block between Sixth and Seventh Avenues and will yield 40,230 square feet of residential space split among 33 units. Homes are expected to average 1,200 square feet apiece.
